I don’t like real hoppy beer and I don’t know a lot but this is very good. Refreshing. Nice balance of bold flavor without being too bitter. The finish isn’t perfect but very good. It makes me want another drink. ronaldtheriot (1918) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JUN 18, 2013
Newcastle Bombshell has a medium-to-thick, creamy, white head and a clear, bubbly, golden appearance. Lacing is pretty nice. The aroma is pungent, with a relatively strong, sweet & sour, beery smell, and the flavor is a white-wine, grain, lemon, and lightly-toasted barley mix. Actually, it tastes much more of alcohol than the 4.4%, but it all works. There is a fairly strong, somewhat sour aftertaste. Also, there is a nice, hefty bitterness present. Mouthfeel is light to medium and somewhat oily, and Newcastle Bomshell finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and quite drinkable. This is not a dull beer, and can go toe to toe with any other summer ale. Overall, it’s delicious, and I strongly suggest try it. RJT damzz (494) - Massachusetts, USA - AUG 30, 2013
Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Nose is citrus hops. Palate is medium body with citrus and a hop mild bitterness. Lingering aftertaste. GnarlyGnome (770) - Fairfield, Ohio, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Bottle: pours a very light golden with a frothy white head. I love the aroma... Sweet, flowery honey. The flavor is crisp and sweet, but with a nice full mouthfeel. I really enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - SEP 19, 2014

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a two finger billowy white head. The head fades moderately fast leaving a nice level of bubbly lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma was a nice balance of lemon citrus and cracker notes. The lemon was the strongest of the aromas but other aromas of a light pear and graininess were there as well giving a refreshing smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a biscuit and grainy flavor with some lemon flavors upfront. As the flavors advance they gain a grassy and rather earthy hop flavor. As the taste moves to its end the earthiness gets stronger and with a slight increase in the lemon a lightly bitter and crisp taste is left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather light with a carbonation level that is a little above average. The two are good for the citrus and earthy flavors of the brew as well as for creating a more crisp feel to match the lower abv of the beer.
Overall – The lightly bitter grass, lemon, and earth flavors at the end of the taste was actually rather nice for the brew and made for a nice drinking summer beer with a bit more earthiness then most.

Pours a light yellow with no head or lacing. The aroma is of rich yeasty wheat rolls with little hops. The taste is of bitter pine sap and wheat. Yummy yummy! nick76 (4399) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUN 2, 2013
The aroma is hoppy with grassy and citrus notes but mostly malty. The appearance is golden with an average head. The taste is simple but effective. The palate is average and the finish buttery. Overall a winner! odannyob (149) - Colorado, USA - JUN 16, 2013
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2014 From a 12 ounce bottle into an english pint glass and for some reason, thinking the ale should be a bit more darker, but of course not, this is a pale blond!
a nice, quick hop hit mixes well with words.
T’ain’t bad and I enjoy the marketing that goes into Newcastle’s "limited editions", still. TheBeerCollector (633) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JUL 16, 2013
Pours clear golden tan with a small lasting head. Very little aroma. Flavor is well balanced with a crisp, clean mouthfeel. This would be a great session ale for a hot summer day. kdm1984 (814) - Missouri, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Blonde appearance with decent head. VERY sweet and malty aroma - almost like honey. Flavor and body are lighter, crisp, and grainy, though still sweet. Balanced well with grassy hops. Dang, I liked this much more than I was anticipating - taste exceeding the aroma and palate in particular. A fine golden blonde ale.
