UPDATED: OCT 24, 2015 A beer that is as pretty as it is good. It has a mild flavor with hints of caramel. Hops add bitterness to the end, but without dominating the flavor.

Nothing spectacular, but a very drinkable beer. Slight notes of roasted malts.

Not an everyday drinking beer, also not a special occassion beer. Newcastle Brown Ale is the beer you buy when there is a sale and you are tired of your regular choices. Its nothing spectacular, but it wont let you down. If you want a beer with a little more substance and a change of pace, give it a try

The appearance of this beer in its clear bottle and the aroma gives you the thought of a full body beer. In reality it is crisp and clean in taste. I drink this beer on a hot summer day when I need a refreshment. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: Light toast cereal notes Appearance: Dark brown color with clear liquid and minimal light tan head. Taste: Light bitter notes and light sourness Palate: Light body with thin texture and soft-flat carbonation. Abrupt bitter finish. No memory left behind. Overall: Popular beer. Too soft for the color. The appearance gives false promises of a strong beer, but the aftertaste disappears without any special notes.

Bottle at the Iron Horse, Glasgow. Pours a dark amber, with a decent froth. Not much nose, just some nuttiness really. Taste is mild and sweet and nutty, not much bitterness. Clean finish. A decent beer, although on the bland side.

Many bottles over the years, it was one of the beers which weaned me off lager 20+ years ago. These days only if there really is little to nothing else available. Pours mid brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, malt. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Medium to light body, slight watery texture. Not as good now as it was when it was brewed in Newcastle.

Bottle at the Crown Eastbourne. A classic that doesnt dissapoint. Mix between a tinny lager and a quality brown ale. Overall, very drinkable.

Not a real kicker at 4.7% abv. A bit thin, but man is it a smooth customer for a darker ale. Tame hop bite and roast with light malt, biscuit, and caramel.

very weak, no real kick to it feels almost watered down but if your not after anything heavy then this may suit
