Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarket - Killearn - 12 oz bottle. Dark brown cola-like pour with a soft eggshell white head that clings to the edge of the glass. Aroma has some bittersweet unsweetened chocolate notes, a touch of molasses. Flavor is solid with some sweet pipe tobacco, a touch of unsweetened baker’s chocolate, some date-like fruitiness, some molasses maltiness and a finish of tasty coffee. Nice clean smooth mouthfeel. Excellent session material. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 16, 2013
355mL from a 24 pack. Yes, I bought it for my father in law, lover of Newcastle. Clear, deep ruby pour, white to light beige foam with good lacing and nicer than expected head formation. Nose is Worcestershire sauce, red apple, soy sauce, metallic penny, heavy sugar. Taste is thin, soapy, suddy, pretty bland with no roast. Hints of red apple, biting soapy bitterness. Strange beer. nearbeer (5636) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 16, 2013
12 oz. Clear mahogany with a quarter inch of creamy bubbles. Mild, nearly-absent aroma has a hint of coffee and caramel. Flavor is a bit bolder with mocha coffee, lightly tart apple and berry, graham cracker, and touches of toasted nut and char on the finish. Near-medium body has medium-high carbonation and is balanced throughout with a dry finish. unclemike (3176) - Junction City Kansas, Kansas, USA - NOV 16, 2013
dark amber color with a nice thin white collar. The aroma has a faint malty biscuit, with a nice nuttiness. Brawler has a very pleasant flavor with a faint amount of nuttiness, roasty malt, some honey, malty biscuit. The palate has a very pleasant nice smooth full roast ending Sledutah (7888) - Utah, USA - NOV 13, 2013

Pours dark brown with a small off-white head and some lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, nutty and coffee. Flavors of toasted malts, burnt bread, grainy, coffee and some bitterness
Decent, tastes like a dark Newcastle Brown.
Aroma is toffee, dryish malts and nuttiness. The flavor is dark malts, dark fruit, toffee, mild citrus and a tangy/sweet finish. Probably the best Newcastle ale I’ve had. fidelis83 (2517) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - NOV 9, 2013
Clear, dark brown pour with a 2 finger, creamy beige head that has great retention. Aroma is toasty, nutty, chocolate, roast, a hint of molasses and some fruity, planty hops. Flavor is nutty, chocolate, toasty toffee, mineral and herbal, planty, spicy hops. The is an extremely faint, but noticeable cabbage-like vegetal note that comes out after a few drinks. Light and dry body with a medium strength, blanketing and pretty sharp carbonation. Pretty good, nice, toasty and refreshing, the cabbage-like note didn’t really bother me, but if it were any stronger it would have. glorydaze (35) - Savannah, Georgia, USA - NOV 8, 2013
Surprisingly nice beer. Chocolate and roasted coffee that add another layer to the classic Newcastle. Nothing overwhelming and quite smooth with a balanced finish. A good seasonal. dillionclark (5) - Spanish Fort, Alabama, USA - NOV 5, 2013 does not count
A lot like the average Newcastle just a bit more roasty and that's about it. The body is still thin and drinkable like the standard brew color is darker. Just a dark roasty Newcastle. I enjoyed it.

This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized amber colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent dark ruby red brown colored body and a fair lacing. The weak aroma was musty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering mild roasted malt aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of roasted malt and hops. A decent one but not one that I would consider drinking again.
