UPDATED: FEB 9, 2016 This black ale has a great flavor and kick. My local beer warehouse has a bunch of it at a great discount - lucky for me. I got colitis right after drinking this, no relation though. Alextricity (509) - Michigan, USA - APR 17, 2014
Appearance: Clear ruby brown. No lacing. Any head it has is fizzled away in moments.
Smell: Cheap roasted malt. Grainy and quite sweet. Has a lot of "red" qualities to it. Simple. Reasonable. Decent at best.
Taste: More of the same. Very thin as well. Moderate carbonation. Not a lot of flavor here. Mildly roasty grains with sweetness, and a tinge of artificial sweetness at the end. About what I’d expect.
Not a beer I bought, or would have ever wanted to buy for myself, because it tastes just as I figured it would -- quite mediocre. Pretty much the very definition of an A-OK beer. Blairgus (4615) - California, USA - APR 16, 2014
16 Apr 2014, bottle. light brown, clear, occasional bubbles. nose is lightly nutty and moderate darkly toasted malt. thin body and fizzy. has a slightly metallic edge, burnt malt, sweet malt. meh. drostj (113) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - APR 15, 2014
Bottle. Dark brown, almost black with a faint head. Rich, slightly sweet aroma of roasted malt and caramel. A bit thin tasting at first, but that is followed by nice flavors of coffee, malt and caramel; some sweetness but a slightly bitter aftertaste keeps it from being cloying. Nice effervescent feel, and not heavy as I expected a black ale to be. Pleasant slightly bitter aftertaste. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - APR 15, 2014
4/15/2014. 12 oz. bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Chocolate, dark malt and fruity aromas. A bit metallic flavors, but malt eventually show through. Malt, caramel and chocolate.

POurs a cola color with a minor coffe and chocolate aroma. Taste is simple, light and refreshing. Notes of faint coco mixed with clean malt flavor. An easy drinking beer that has a light fruit and sweetness flavor on the palate. No distinct aftertaste. BillWyce (1116) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2014
Pours clear cola-brown with a 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of cocoa with a touch of coffee. Medium body, slightly watery with a brief finish. Flavor of coffee and cocoa with a light fruity note to the finish. DocLock (11191) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 4, 2014
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours hazy chestnut with 2-finger tan head. Nose is nuts, cacao, caramel, hops. Tastes nutty, with some caramel, cacao, and a medium to light finish with light palate heft. Like an overly perfumed crack whore, this one looks good, smells much better than it tastes, and sucks, but not unless you pay for it first. 60minuteman (1765) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2014
Clear dark brown, near black. Some suds. Very faint aroma of caramel, sugar, malt, and leaves. Taste is the same. More roasted malt than anything here. It has a good clean lingering flavor. Good texture and pretty enjoyable alcohol flavor. BOSSbrewer (2705) - Arkansas, USA - APR 1, 2014
Aroma is slightly roast malt and earth. Flavor follows with slight caramel. Nice mild beer. Very drinkable.
