2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Burnt toffee aroma for a clear, brown/amber beer. The flavour is also a sort of nutty, toffee-esque flavour. It’s decent enough to be drinkable but not enough that I’d go out of my way to have it again. It’s a bit on the watery side too.
Bottle from Tesco. Poured a copper colour, with an off white head, which dissipated quite rapidly. Aroma of some roasted malt, caramel and burnt sugar. Fairly light flavour, some grain, bread and toffee. Finish was toasted malt, nuts and dates. weaselkenievil (1609) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2014
Bottle at home from Tesco. Thought it and knew I hadn’t had it so gave it a go, wasn’t worth the punt. Darkk amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is straw, caramel malts, lemon. Flavour is lacking everywhere. Didn’t offend me but I didn’t enjoy it. kappldav123 (6131) - GERMANY - MAR 17, 2014
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts malty, dry, modest woody-scratchy. Mild bitter background. Not much hoppy notes. More and more spicy with light sourish notes. Finish more balanced, quite drinkable. Not bad! john44 (3331) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2014
Bottle - Dark Amber in colour. Malty; roasty malts, rye bread, toffee. Spicy (from the rye). Fruity; some dried fruits. Slight hops. Sweetish roasty toffee malty and quite dry throughout. Not good. Quack-Duck (9490) - Down South, GERMANY - DEC 28, 2013
bottle from Tesco Newton Abbot. Amber colour, small fluffy head. Malty start with some nuts and dried fruit. Shy hoppy finish with a woody and cardboardy touch. Disappointing.

Bottle 355ml. @ [ (chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig) by chriso - London ].
Clear medium yellow amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, wood, toffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, oxidide - bread - cardboard, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle 355ml from Quack-Duck thanks ! A clear brown beer with low head. Nose is roasted like with caramel touch. Aroma is on sweet caramel, burnt caramel, dry bitterness, not too far from usual Newcastle Brown, just more hoppy, personally not my cup of tea. For the sake of the social interaction just numeral ratings and/or some highlighted attributes. Fruity and malty, some musky and earthy notes too. SilverfoX (871) - Norfolk, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2013
quite thin and bland for a propsed winter warmer but then you would have picked up something better wouldnt you? as it is i think its better than most peoples reviews led me to believe quite a nice session beer.
