COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Formidable Beast". What better way to toast the fall than to have a bottle of this formidable, dual character brew. At first smooth with mellow overtones of sweet berry fruit, a bite of bitterness suddenly cuts through, long, deep and lingering. Brewed with Rye Malt, it is naturally "blood red" in colour. Unlike the mythical wolf-like creature said to roam the bleak moorland surrounding Newcastle, this is real, so consider yourself warned!

On tap at the Bull Run tap house. Nicely balanced. Dark brown, pours with small bubbles, thin head.

Shared bottle. Til surstrømming... Fin bitter humlet smag. Rødgylden farve.

Skinnyviking (9644) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 22, 2013
Bottle. Low fluffy white and quickly disappearing head. Clear dark brown body. Alcohol dominated aroma with caramel and chestnuts. Mild malty flavor with little hops bitternes as well as some caramel and besides slightly sour. High carbonation. Short finish.

From a bottle, smokey porter/lager. Very disappointing. Would not drink again. Will stick to Newcastle original

Something had to be #600 for me, and this is it. Aroma is of bakery and bourbon. Beautifu dark red w/beige head. Foam lasts a good long time with some light lacing on the glass. Flavor is a bit unusual. Bready but flat. Overall this is one of the best reds out there. Bottle at my sisters house.

Senka (1083) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 20, 2013
33cl bottle. Easy and simple bitter. If it was not for its texture - smooth and velvety - it would be just bitter and not premium *(thou premium bitter should have some extra ABV). Good for a Halloween party, but only for that. Mixed feelings with this one.

ERB92 (766) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 18, 2013
Not much aroma her, the little aroma i find is of caramel, hay and some roasted grains. The appearance is not blood red as read on the bottle (luckily) but more of an amber colour. very clear with a white small head. The taste is sweet from the malts and some bitterness from what i think is some sort off roasted malt and hint off hops. light body with a nice carbonation, a bit on the fizzy side. Overall an easy drinkable ale, not to exciting but not bad.

2.6
stevoj (5369) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 17, 2013
Exceedingly average beer, faint aroma and taste, a little bit of roast malt and hops bite that fades fast. Not much to write home about here.

2.8
Borup (14983) - Albertslund, DENMARK - OCT 17, 2013
Bottle from Netto. Dark amber Colourbox with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of fruit, caramel, roasted malt and bitterness.

3.3
hens (761) - Tallinn, Estonia, ESTONIA - OCT 16, 2013
0.33L bottle. Musty, caramel aroma. Sour toffee, apple juice, raw plum, gentle caramel hops, over carbonated. Medium bitter end. Drinkable.
