Bottle, 4.5%. Clear dark amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted and a little butter. Flavour is malt, caramel, medium sweet, little toffee and watery. yngwie (17078) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 29, 2013
Bottle. It’s a clear, dark amber to copper colored beer, topped by a small, dense, off-white to light beige head leaving some lacings. The aroma is sure on the malty side, with a faint spiced touch and a cheesy hint. Some chocolate hints too. It’s full-bodied and a tad too much carbonated, quite dry as well, even though there’s a sweetish touch in the flavor. There’s an underlying bitterness in this one, lasting for a good while, but I don’t think there’s enough of it to deal with the bready malts and chocolate hints. Some hints of tea in there too actually. Overall, a beer I can’t really decide whether I like or not, but it tastes quite decent, just don’t think I could do a session of it. 130829 jtclockwork (16690) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Bottle. Pours dark brown with white head. Nose and taste of malt, skunk and barley/grain. Lighter medium body. brokensail (16486) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 23, 2011
A: The pour is a clear light brown color with a finger of off-white head.
S: A surprisingly roasty aroma. Lots of toasted malts with a definite nuttiness (though the nuts seem somewhat burnt). Light grass aromas with some hints of toffee. There is a bit of a butter note, however.
T: Caramel, toffee, and lots of roasted malt. It’s quite bitter and quite buttery. Lightly fruity (raisins, perhaps) with a definite grass flavor. Really not a good combination on the palate.
M: Very light in body, in fact, watery, with medium carbonation.
O: The nose started off okay, but once the butter crept in, it was all over.
