Pours dark amber with a thin mostly receding off-white head. Notes of caramel, toffee, piney hops. BVery (10501) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JAN 23, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bottle. Not sure what I really expected from Newcastle, but this is pretty bad. Plenty of skunk to go with the caramel malts. Pretty light palate. Bleh. bpreo (2836) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Made following an 18th Century British recipe for IPA’s. Lot’s of caramel flavors. berrya785 (441) - Kansas, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Pours a clear amber color with a half-inch head and good lacing.
Underwhelming aroma that featured malt, mild hops and grain. Taste is sweet malt, mild hops, and grain. decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JAN 14, 2013
Gold pour with very little head or lace. Aroma is caramel malt with a hinto perfumy hops. Flavor is medium malt with a hinto floral hop bitter. Light medium body with aggressive carbonation. OK drinker

Pours a light brown with little head and dece t lacing. Aroma of grains, biscuit malt. Watery taste of toasted malt, some sweetness, maybe some nuttiness and slight leathery taste in finish. Not much bitterness for an IPA, even an English IPA. Low carbonation. Not very complex or good. Doesn't taste too bad just not much taste at all. Drinkable if you like flavored water as your beer. Wouldn't buy again.

Aroma is caramel, lots of caramel and nothing else. Pours golden with an off white head. Flavour is more caramel with a touch of bitterness. Over all this beer isn’t an IPA and is a bit dull. keepersj12 (3117) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Pours amber with no head. The aroma is bland, a bit of caramel and some biscuit. The flavor ha the caramel and bit of metal. Not much in the way of hops. Certainly not an IPA, and an average ESB. DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - JAN 11, 2013
Overall pretty good winter but nothing to brag about smooth and taste as I like with my winters PhillyBeer2112 (2850) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - JAN 11, 2013
Well I expected this to be terrible, not that I would let any such bias affect my rating! But it wasn’t terrible. That’s not to say it was good. Mostly a light grassy leafy hop nose, slight pepper to the flavors. Hops overall very restrained, mostly showing up as a light bitterness to the finish. Otherwise smooth bready malts.
