Bottle from Tesco. Clear pale brown colour thick cream head. Syrup malt aroma. Bit of biscuit. Touch of some vague hop on the finish. It’s like the Nocturnal, just very good as a beer, but this one is just slightly better. Not great. brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 19, 2012
Pours an ominously dark color for an IPA. Almost brown, maybe burnt orange, with an off-white head. Candy-like sweetness on the nose. Lots of sugar and toffee. No real hop presence at all. Maybe a light spiciness? The flavor is of water and toffee, maybe a bit of caramel. Again, almost no hop presence to be found, not even any bitterness. Not good at all. bhensonb (15208) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear copper with a slight beige head that left quickly. Aroma is floral/herb with a caramel backing. Suggests cola sort of. Med body. Flavor is odd. There’s a veg/herb hop thing. Malt backing. Suggests an insecticide aroma - the kind made from flowers*. It’s not terrible, but I’ve never had anything like it. Unique flavors fer sure.
