Cask at The Claret. It pours golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is apricot jam, stewed fruit, dry grass and biscuit. The taste is apricot, peach, bitter grapefruit, honey, grass and straw with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Cask conditioned handpump Salmon Leicester 29/11/12. A light brown coloured beer with a tight white head and lace. Fruity hops with sweetness and a touch of soap. Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Golden brown with a white foam. Aromas are caramel and biscuit with mixed stewed Autumn fruit. Herbal, grassy notes with woodiness and grapefruit. Flavours are sweet caramel and apple with bitter lemon and some pithy grapefruit. Fruity, woody and dry with resinous lemon on the finish. From The Madding Crowd, Oxford. Deep golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma i fruits, wood, some grassy and mild grainy notes. Flavour is fruity floral, wooden, caramel malty and a bit earthy. Balanced, but really not superhoppy...
Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 28/06/2011. Deep gold with a tight white head. Aroma of apricots, limes and biscuity malts. Flavour had more citrus and apricot fruit, with some solid malts and a decent, bitter finish. Nice one.
