Very solid for an APA, decent hop aroma and solid flavor - however it doesn’t linger long enough. Good for a sunny day in Newport. DenverLogan (1232) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 28, 2007
Amber color, small white head. Nice aroma of hops, with a big grapefruit hoppy and citrus flavor. Minimal sweetness and bitter finish. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - JUL 29, 2006
On draft at NBBC.
This is a nicely done APA. It hits you with a great hoppy aroma, and backs it up with a good flavor. This was very solid. DarkElf (3066) - La Jolla, California, USA - JAN 21, 2005
(Draft: Newport Beach Brewing Company in Newport Beach, CA) This is beer number 3 at this place, and this beer is better than the first two I tried. It couldn’t possibly get worse. This has a fairly light hops flavor, a bit citrusy, only mildly bitter for an IPA, but there’s so little maltiness that the hops jumps out. Mild sweetness. Lightly hoppy and mildly sweet nose. Clean, crisp palate, light to medium in body. Light golden color. Small white head fades quickly to a spotty film. Decidedly average for an IPA. Clear golden-amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, caramel. Taste is medium sweet, caramel and grapefruit up top, finishing strong grapefruit. Decent bitterness but does not linger much. Medium body.

Dark gold pour. Floral nose with slight citrus notes. Big "C" hop bite. This is your standard big hopped up west coast ipa. BeerLimey (2154) - California, USA - OCT 29, 2002
Light malt at the tip turns to an impressive citric second half. Rounds out with a well balanced bitter/sweet finish.
