I'm not the biggest Smoke fan but this is a very nice one. Aroma is - of course - very smokey. Taste is less smokey than nose. Nice vinous quality to this beer with some licorice. Full body. fombe89 (4350) - Asturias, SPAIN - NOV 17, 2017

Color negro espuma beige, aromas ahumados notas torrefactos ligeros, sabor malta bastante ahumado cuerpo denso.
Dark brown color with creamy beige head which disappears quickly. Nice aroma of smoke, sweet malts and peat. Taste has first sweet malts and caramel but then it turns to slightly bitter and dry with smoke. Overall very nice and different smoke beer. Scipio (1313) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - NOV 3, 2017
Pours a deep brown with a thinner beige head. The aroma is big on smoke and peat, while it has some earthiness, wood, and hints of raisin. Its unique and intense. The taste has a mild, lingering sweetness. A little dry as well. As expected, the peat and smoke dominate. In addition, I get generous amounts of caramel and raisin, earthy malt, mild cherry, fig, and molasses. Smoky raisin finish. Its full bodied, with a thick texture, and softer in carbonation. Even though the flavor is hidden well, the alcohol content jumps right out at you. Overall, its tasty, different, and very interesting. This one was a lot of fun.

2012 bottle, at home, 4th October 17. Pours a black beer, nice tight throthy head. Aroma is iodine, smoke, liquorice, roasted malt. Taste is iodine, tcp, slight medicinal, liquorice, roasty. Good, similar to a smoked imperial stout. BenL8 (306) - SWITZERLAND - SEP 23, 2017
Pours dark brown, little head. Aroma is very smoked, whisky, sour dough - peated malt is really dominant. Big body, thick mouthfeel. Flavour is malty sweet, peaty, a tad acidic, some roastiness. Very sweet as expected from a barley wine with a nice rye bite. Not always a fan of smoked beer, this is nice though. vincentvega72 (969) - Terneuzen, NETHERLANDS - SEP 8, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2017 Donker bier. Dikke compacte off-white schuimkraag. Rook, leer, tabak, donker fruit, kruidig, zoetje. Hele volle smaak, boozy, licht plakkerig. Mooie warme afdronk, licht subtiel bittertje. Stroperige, rokerige zoetigheid. Topbier. islay (3185) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 4, 2017
16.9 oz. bottle, consumed on 8-31-17. Best fore: 12.01.22. Brygget: 12.01.12. Pours an opaque, medium to dark brown with a small to moderate amount of beige head. Sweet, smoky, chemical, tart aroma. Scents of port wine, campfire, cooked carrots, and strawberries. Flavor hues closely to aroma. Leathery, malty taste. Theres an artificial, chemical element that isnt ideal. Definitely smoky, although thats not necessarily the most notable part of the flavor or aroma. Boozy. Simultaneously sweet and bitter. Medium to full body, not quite as full as I wouldve expected from the ABV. Somewhat smooth in the palate. Unremarkable palate effects. Overall, a decent and memorable beer. Not great, but certainly not bad, and it is interesting. 18.104.22.168.14=>3.5 NORSAND (129) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - AUG 28, 2017
(Batch 1326-B, brewed 10.12.2014. So despite having been bought just recently at the Norwegian wine monopoly, it’s already 3,5 years old)
POURS reddish brown with a lasting medium sized, beige head.
NOSE: Sweet, dark and smokey malt notes, some caramel. Lovely woodsmoke, some dark mushrooms, smoked meat.
TASTE: The arrival is rich, initially dry, then turns semi sweet, with lots of lovely wood smoke, forest notes, toasted barley, toasted coffee, caramel and some vanilla. The body is rich, the texture creamy and smooth from carbonation. The exit is drier, with a nice, moderate hops bitterness covering up the underlying sweetness, notes of liquorice, burnt wood, smoked meat, smoked ham, even slightly reminiscent of smoked rich (oily) fish and it’s all very good. The aftertaste is long, moderately bittersweet with lingering smoke and toasted coffee notes and a spiciness which I imagine stems from the 20% rye content. I love this beer and its sweet / hops bitter / smoke balance. I think this beer has further aging / development potential.
