Ingredients: Malted barley, wheat, malted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast and local Grimstad water. It is very difficult to brew a complex and balanced Belgian-style tripel ale, but we have made an attempt at brewing one anyway! Our respect and admiration for those who master the skill and art of brewing excellent ale of this style is limitless. Tripels often pair with cheese, seafood and fresh vegetables.

Light hazy golden colour with white head. Aroma is sweet malt and fruity. Taste sweet fruit and easy drinking.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2016 Pours a hazy golden yellow on tap with fluffy white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of sweet candied sugar, big yeast Belgian esters, and a nice malty backbone. Taste follows, like cotton candied fruit beer, but surprisingly not too sweet. Either as it warms or maybe because of something I ate, but some smoky meat is coming out, interesting. Booze is well hidden, effervescent carbonation, really well done for the style.

bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Aroma of malt and light bitter citrus. Hazy medium amber color, ivory head that drops to a full cover, sheets of lace. Taste is smooth toffee malt that moves through a lightly carbonated swallow to mostly semi-sweet yeast and biscuit. Slight bittering in the finish isn’t enough to offset an almost cloying sweet. This one comes close, but doesn’t deliver any balance. Too bad.

Smell of yeast, citrus. Muddy yellow colour with beige head. Aroma of yeast, mango, some nuts, some citrus. Mostly sweet, mildly sour. Carbon is low but sharp. Medium oily texture. Too yeasty, as many other Tripels.

A great well balanced Belgian triple from Nøgne Ø! Love the hint of smoked malt!

From draft : Aroma has slight spice and peat/smokiness. dry bread. Flavor is nice and fruity, and some of the peatyness comes through here as well. Nice belgian spicyness. Quite balanced in the finish. This was quite good.

Pours a hazy amber body with a medium head. Nice and rich aroma. Taste if rather rich and very well balanced. A quite nice tripel with a distinctive character. If it were belgian, it would probably be famous :)

50 cl [email protected] in tulip [email protected] 9 degrees C Pours hazy yellow with small off white head with ok retention and some lacing. Fruity, yeasty aroma. Taste yeasty, slightly smoked, alcoholic with a sweetness of dried apricot and other dried fruits which also carries over into the aftertaste. Low carbonation and almost cloying palate. Completely lacks the effervescense of a good Belgian tripel and was the most disappointing Nøgne Ø I have had to date. Guess even excellent breweries miss now and again...
