Purchased Pale Ale, Millstone and Gritstone at LCBO on sale. Pours a nice amber with a small head that struggles to survive, pretty good lacing though, aroma was quite sweet. Taste started off really well, a great malty start, but after that I find that it doesn’t really go anywhere. Finish was a tad weak. Still, a pretty good Pale. Pours clear golden-orange colour. Almost no head. Orange and grapefruit flavor. Drinkable. blankboy (7735) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 8, 2005
Bottle at the Winking Judge’s fall BeerFest 2005. Pours a clear dark golden-orange with an average size white head. Aroma and flavour primarily of sweet malt with light hops and grain. I found it a little too sweet, it could use a little more hops to balance it out better. A decent Ale. HogTownHarry (7062) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - OCT 1, 2005
Bottle (341ml). At October 2005 Winking Judge BeerFest, Hamilton. Poured clear full golden-amber with a bubbly small white head. Aroma of grains, sour malt, some corn, stale hops - a bit sweet. Taste is honey-sweet malt, some straw/hay grain - quite clean and free of adjuncts and nastiness. Mouthfeel fizzy and a bit thin. Tastes decent, quite quenching, nic Canadian non-macro brew.

Bottle. Wheaty aroma. Straw coloured with a thin white head. Straw, wheat, grass hit me in the mouth. Smooth beer, slight carbonation and a nice bite on the back of the tongue to finish this off. SpringsLicker (3660) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 16, 2005
Clear golden body with a decent head.
Clean malt aroma.
The flavor is lightly sweet with a smooth body. A bit more hops would bring this more into balance. Drinkable, no real problems, just lackluster. tiggmtl (4544) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 22, 2005
Orange blossom hop nose over sweet caramel malts. Clear golden coloured body with a slight cover of white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Sharp hop bitterness up front with floral, orange, grapefruit hop flavour joined by mild butterscotch and a tame caramel malt sweetness. Light and somewhat thin with moderate carbonation. Shaker, just above fridge temp. Bottle (RBSG’05 leftovers). beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 13, 2005
Clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and mild hops. Flavor of toasted malt, caramel and mild hops, mild bitter finish. It’s very true to the english pale ale style, more prominent malt than hops and I like that (I also like strongly hopped beers though). Light to medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAY 16, 2005
Thanks pintbypint. This poured a light amber with a thin head. The aroma is tangerines with some flowers and aromas. The taste is light grapefruit with some bread and a hint of peaches.
