Bottle shared with koleminer20 at the conclusion The Chouffe Party 2016. Aroma is sweet malt, dark fruit, maybe a little thyme, smells like Christmas, very boozy. Appearance is dark brown, light brown head, pretty clear. Taste is booze, sweet malt, dark fruit, drying. Mouthfeel is medium body, light but crisp carbonation, very boozy aftertaste. Overall, this one could be better but is too hot to be enjoyable.

fhoublon (461) - Lachine, Quebec, CANADA - APR 16, 2016
Bouteille de 330ml (best before end 06-2017), achetée dans une SAQ au coût de $3.65. Dégustée le 11 février 2016 (Trappist glass). Bière brune foncée quasi opaque. Mousse assez, col moyen beige foncé, persistant. Assez effervescente, bulles moyennes.

Bottle: Murky brown with a off-white head and lace. The aroma is caramel malt and spiciness. The flavors included spices, caramel, plum and raisins. It was well balanced with a strong sense of alcohol at the end.

Beardbeerman (341) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 20, 2016
Pours a clear dark mohagany with high carbonation topped by a good two fingers of frothy/creamy beige head showing good retention and coarse lacing properties. Nose of dark fruits, plums, dattes. Sweetness and nutiness in the nose. On the tongue, the ale is sweet and nutty, giving dark fruits and dattes. This ale is highly carbonated. Medium body and nice oilyness (is that a word?) with a medium finish. Close to no bitterness, but the hops do give a slight boiled vegetable element at the very end. Good ale. Cheers!

11.2oz bottle from a deeply discounted 4 pack purchased in early Feb with a best buy date still 9 months away. Pours dark amber with a nice looking swirly head. Sweet aromas. Tastes of dark fruits, yeast and spice. Lively carbonation. Tasty Belgian but not worth the high price that it usually sells for.
