1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 20, 2005
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2011 2004 bottle via Kevin. Pours to a beige bubbly creamy head atop a deep woody brown. Nice lacing. The aroma is mildly malty and figgy with a Belgian yeastiness and is woody-ish. Definite Curaҫao apparent in the aroma as well. Spicy with Curaҫao. Light Belgian yeastiness. Creamy and medium-full bodied. No discernable alcohol except a light warming of the gullet. 8, 4, 7, 4, 16 = 3.9; Tap 2011. Pours to a murky brown body with a white head and awesome lacing. Aroma is dry chocolate and toasted malt. Flavor is kind of like a scotch ale with light spices and apple. Sweet and metallic. The beer was very metallic up front but mellowed as I let it sit. Lingering on the palate. Medium body. 6, 4, 7, 3, 12 = 3.2

Pours a dark ruby/brown with a creamy offwhite head. Looks delicious! Complex and malty aroma of belgian yeast, caramel, spices, raisin, liquorice and even some citrus. Full body, creamy feel, lively carbonation. Taste starts off sweet with brown sugar and roasted malts which moves into notes of orange with spices and hops. Long and pleasantly bitter finish with a bit of punch from the alcohol. A true winter warmer!

Clear brown pour with a medium off white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, caramel malts, toffee, raisins, figs/plums. Medium bitter, halfway sweet. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Tasty winters sipper, alcohol well hidden.

Bottle: pours a hazed brown with ruby highlights - Aroma is musty, spicy, pungent....flavor is fruity, musty, a tad sweet...wet finish with little hop balance,,,not my cup of tea.

Uit een flesje thuis, na een sneeuwwandeling. Goed bruin van kleur, mooi schuim. Prima winterbier, maar iets te zoet.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours black with very persistent whitish foam. Aroma is licorice, malty. Body is dense and sticky with moderate carbonation. Taste is intensely sweet, with limited bitterness. Finish is sweet but not particularly long.

Uzupełnienie profilu notatki.
Piana obfita, opadając zdobi szkło, resztki pozostają do końca.

Spab (4135) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 8, 2017
330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear orangey brown colour with modest-sized cream-coloured head. Aroma is raisin, spice, toffee, honey, leather and tobacco. Flavour is quite sweet with burnt sugar, raisin, toffee, honeyed grains, light winter spice and tobacco. ABV is dangerously hidden. Good one.

A great beer, following the standards of the great Belgian beer. A very good Christmas beer, made with great professionalism and tradition. All a pleasure to be able to have such a great beer.

Bottle - dark reddy brown, only small head. Good pleasant fruity aroma. Ting on tongue and in mouth. Strong tasting but should be for 10%. Good lasting taste. Good for a strong beer.

3.9
simontomlinson (627) - Blackburn, Lancashire, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2017
Rocky beige head left flotsam on a still, rich looking dark brown body.
Dark fruit, candied fruit, Christmas cake, brown sugar & spicy aroma.
Medium to full bodied. Thick, chewy and very smooth on the palate with a very slight sharp finish.
Taste is much as the aroma with Dundee cake, spices, dark spirits, dark berries, demerara and a fruity, tangy finish.
