Rich dark brown/black color; Heavy creamy body; Aroma of toasted malt, oak, vanilla, rich coffee beans, dark chocolate, & some bourbon; Flavor of roasted sweet malt, vanilla, caramel, rich coffee/espresso, dark chocolate, some hops, and bourbon; Warm finish; Considering the abv, it’s fairly well hidden; Very nicely balanced & complex; Awesome brew.

From 75cl bottle at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours very dark with very low cappuccino foam. Aroma is fruits under spirits, coffee, roasted malt. Body is dense and sticky, some astringency. Taste is sweet balanced by a nice bitterness. Finish is long and pleasant.

Boutip (6433) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 15, 2017
Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and slight lacing. Aroma of floral dry coffee notes with some black chocolate notes, bourbon and vanilla with some residual sugar notes is quite enticing. Taste is a well-balanced mix of dry floral coffee notes with some black chocolate notes, residual sugar with light arming alcohol a nice smooth bourbon finish with some notes of vanilla.

Super creamy and rich, the coffee comes in late, very full bodied and decadent, no burn. Pure black dark brown head. Black chocolate, long aftertaste. Nice this is a heavy hitter!

Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, coffee and bourbon alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted dark coffee sweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

750 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized, dense khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have rich coffee, chocolate, barrel character that presents more like Canadian whiskey than bourbon, roasted malt, wood, molasses, caramel, great roasted coffee bitterness to the finish, big body, good mouthfeel, solid.

750 ml bottle, 14.5% ABV, stamp on bottle says 15:10 PK 02/10/17 so I’m guessing that’s the bottled on date. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a while. There’s a small amount of lacing. I like the aroma a lot, the brew smells like coffee, roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla, wood and molasses. And luckily for me, the taste is pretty much the same as the aroma but with the addition of some burnt/charred malt, bittersweet chocolate and dark bready flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. Pretty easy drinking for the ABV, nowhere near as boozy as I expected. I liked Nickel Brook’s Kentucky Bastard a lot, and this brew is even better! Don’t pass up this one if you see a bottle, it’s worth it! $19.99 a bottle.
