We admit it. We have a problem... We love our hops. We especially adore the amazing science of hops! As homage to our favourite wonders of nature, we present to you our award-winning Headstock IPA. The flowering humulus lupulus hop-cone provides us with the vital acids, essential oils and resins that permeate throughout our IPA. The result is a deliciously obscene wallop of tropical fruit, citrus and pine flavours and aromas any hop-head would gladly give a DNA sample for. We conclude that hop science is one tasty passion.

Doesn’t bring anything new to the table but it’s so well-crafted I would say it’s one of the best IPAs I’ve tried. Being in a pint format for more or less the same price you usually find most 33ml cans is also a big thumbs up

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2017 Lata 50 cl en el kraken 31..03..2017. (r232). Embotellado 16..01..2017 Sin lote en base de lata. Color amarillento anaranjado turbio con espuma blanca. Aromas frescos afrutados algo florales y herbaceos ligeramente resinosos.

Draft at RnHw. Pours a golden body with thin white lacing. Nose is pine, resin and malt. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a bit more fruity notes coming through on the palate; flavors of peach, ash and sweet malt. This was a bit better than their "Naughty Neighbour" offering, but wouldn’t be surprised if both were much better closer to the source.

Tomada en el Kraken. Densa. Frutal. Amarga. Cerveza muy redonda. Para repetir.

Can (Jan 23, 2017): Dark hazy orange, finger of white head. Dank resiny hops, pine, orange/grapefruit peel, floral, caramel malt. Sweet fruitiness on the front followed by a medium sticky bitter/dry finish. Medium body, nice fine carbonation. Overall: good rich IPA, I just never seem to reach for it. Maybe it’s a bit cloyingly bitter for its body, or maybe just old can was cooler.

Bawelt (874) - Lyon, FRANCE - MAR 17, 2017
