COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We kicked it up a notch with our Bolshevik Bastard Imperial Stout, aging it in Kentucky Bourbon barrels. The rich chocolate, coffee and dark fruit flavours from our Imperial Stout are married together with the vanilla, oak and warming alcohol from bourbon barrels. Together as one, the result is an incredible blend of aroma and taste. Drink it today, or cellar it to enjoy later as it matures. Formerly 12%.

2014 rating. Pours a huge, thick milky brownish head and has a very dark appearance, pretty much pitch black. Thick lacing all around. Aromas of vanilla, light chocolate, oak, little bit of alcohol. Flavours of dark chocolate, toffee, caramel malts, some notes of vanilla. The bourbon is actually fairly noticeable, but blended well with the malts so, a much more subdued taste. Mainly bourbon like in the finish as well as with the mouthfeel. Smooth, silky and oily mouthfeel with a somewhat strong alcohol feel that lingers. Great stuff!

22 ounce bottle. Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, malt, vanilla, and bourbon. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, and bourbon barrel. Very good.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2018 This beer is so delicious! Has a syrup-like thickness that tastes of Carmel, tasted coffee and bourboney-goodness. The gods have surely smiled upon this one. I can’t say enough about how good this beer is. Just delicious!

Barwa czarna, piana spora. Aromat śliwki, wanilia, daktyle,nuty bourbonu, W smaku suszone owoce, śliwka, wanilia, Bourbon. Ciało spore, alko ukryte. Pifko jest słodkie z lekko kwaśnym finiszem. Bardziej idzie w klimaty american strong ale niż imperial stout. Fajne pifko.

Black, excellent head. Aroma: plums, bourbon, vanilla bit of alcohol. Full body, sweet. Bit souer, plums fruits, barrel (woody finish), nicely hidden alcohol.

UPDATED: MAR 7, 2018 In my opinion, this is the king of the Stouts. Unlike NB'd Cuvee reserve, Kentucky Bastard doesn't try to be too complicated. Aromas are of a typical malty stout with hints of bourbon (obviously). Notes of dried fruits, dates, oak, vanilla and of course, bourbon. Although boozy, it's surprisingly an easy drink, with each new mouthfull becoming tastier and tastier. Surprisingly, the head disapates rather quickly, and this beer kind of fools me into thinking I'm drinking a hearty ale. Mouthfeel is slick. Looking forward to aging this one.

2016 22oz. The aroma is chocolate, some bourbon, some coffee and a little licorice. Pours almost black with mostly diminishing tan head and very good lacing. The taste is a medium bitter/sweet. The body is medium/full, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter and long. Very Good!!!

A solid A- for me. I don't have a sweet tooth but this was still very impressive. I pictured this spurted all over some incredibly decadent French vanilla ice cream, but I guess it wasn't going to be my day...

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2017 Had the 2016 and the 2017 versions. 2016: complex, with barrel all the way. Fudgy, boozy, filled with bourbon, liquor chocolate and alcohol heat. 2017: mellowed down, but the coffee shines. Esspresso, smooth chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and subtle oak notes. Both of them were absolute great beers and have the same rating.
