COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We kicked it up a notch with our Bolshevik Bastard Imperial Stout, aging it in Kentucky Bourbon barrels. The rich chocolate, coffee and dark fruit flavours from our Imperial Stout are married together with the vanilla, oak and warming alcohol from bourbon barrels. Together as one, the result is an incredible blend of aroma and taste. Drink it today, or cellar it to enjoy later as it matures.

Pitch black color with brown color. Strong bourbon aroma, a bit boozy, and later some dark malts. Smooth mouthfeel; dark malts, with liquorice, a bit salty, but not much depth, and strong boozy feeling.
Ok beer, no grace or elegance.

Bottle shared in London during CRs bday - thanks to WingmanWillis! Pours thick black-brown with a creamy khaki head. Big dark fruit aroma with notes of sugary chocolate. Big sweet flavor with creamy chocolate, moderate roast, burnt toffee, further dark, dried fruits. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish with nice notes of vanilla, chocolae, dark fruits, scorched earth. Solid overall. Pretty well balanced, decent depth.

Bottle split at my 40th Sheenans at CBC Islo, big thanks to the Wingman (and no doubt FLBH!) for this bad assed named beer, 11/10/14. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is strong on bourbonics, liqourice, dark malts, woody rinse, light roast. Taste comprises mellow dark fruits, spice, dark malt, bourbon pretty prominent, tar. Medium + body, fine carbonation, lightly drying close with a bourbon wash. Ok BBA impy, a little 1D but pretty drinkable none the less, ABV is fairly well integrated.

Bottle from an LCBO in Hamilton. Very dark. Aroma is rich, with lots of molasses, bourbon/vanilla, a dash if burnt sugar, soft finish that has just a touch of alcohol. Its a very likeable beer, Ill say that.

750mL bottle, sent from ratyger (thanks a lot, Sam), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels, vanilla, and cocoa. Flavour is very much the same, bringing out bourbon barrels, vanilla, roasted and cocoa powder. Wonderful balance with all the aforementioned qualities. Excellent stuff.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate, wood and bourbon alcohol aroma. Medium to heavy toasted dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.

Scopey (13006) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 11, 2014
Bottle thanks to the Wingman. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The nose is sweet, toffee, vanilla, toffee, spicy, bourbon, oily and treacle. The taste is bitter, ashy, roasty, earth, tar, dirt, vanilla, toffee, some acidity, wood and coffee liqueur with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Punchy big bastard. Big bourbon. Jesus. Perhaps too harsh.

Dogbrick (11879) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 8, 2016
This beer pours brownish-black with a medium thick creamy beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, malt and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Solid beer all around.
