473 ml can from lcbo. Poured quietly with average carbonation. The beer has a light amber colour with a rich white head and lots of long lasting lace. The crisp dry hoppy start is followed by a malty smoothness expanding into the middle. There is a long finish with hints of grapefruit and a touch of soft fruit sweetness. Mouthfeel thins out slightly towards the end. A much better than average PA.

Nice honey orange body, but scattered foam is a bit cheap looking. Very dank scent; lightly citrusy, pungent floral character, light belgian ale spice. Flavor is highly floral and moderately bready but not a whole lot else. A bit of that belgian ale spice comes through, but the hop profile is a bit simple for my taste. Clean and drinkable, but not all that memorable.

This is just "thin" on a lot of fronts. A soft nose of some malt and citrus. The taste is faint with some very green citrus hops, pepper and vegetables. The body is thin as well and there is little staying power to what is there. Sorry.

Tall can (thx, Peter!). Aroma is somewhat chemical, like a paint, with herbal notes. Taste is the same with malty and herbal notes. Not pleasant chemical aftertaste. Not good.

OK I liked this from the start not even concerned it was half a buck over where it should be priced, but that should be fixed! Very fresh very clean very subtle hoppiness I like it. Pours a mid amber, not to carbonated , a really tasty fall beer. Not sure where the negative reviews originate from except if those people only drink BUD et al. Well done again Nickel Brook, keep putting out tasty beer.

473ml can. Pours a clear caramel with a half finger of head. Aroma has notes of medium resin, citrus, pine, caramel, and a faint floral. Taste is balanced but slightly bitter. Citrus, resin, pine, grass, straw, and a short ending. Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Clean and almost a bit of a watery mouth feel. Overall a very clean beer.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2016 Was excited for this one, two (pricey) cans from the LCBO. Poured a light copper colour, quickly flat head. Very faint hop smell, more maltiness than hop, but still faint. Taste follows suit, slightly caramel maltiness but weak. Palate slightly bitter but far too thin/light for it’s APA namesake. What happened to the beautiful easy drinking yellow/gold beer with a frothy thick head and citrusy forward hop aroma I had last year that ranked at the top of my beers? Was it a bad hop season? This must be one of the most inconsistently rated beers I’ve seen. I’m a big fan of Nickel Brook but this was a huge disappointment compared to last year’s batch that came in 750ml bottles. Overall: meh, flat. Hoping for the return of the one I loved next year.

Fresh can bought at the LCBO in Kitchener. One word: meh. I don’t know what is wrong with this beer. Aroma and taste are like weak green tea. No palette, weak aroma of some green vegetables. Taste is dry and some flavorless liquid I cannot identify. A drainer.

750 ml bottle from the LCBO.

Appearance: Pours a clear straw yellow with a couple fingers of white head that fade rapidly leaving little lace.

Aroma: Hops, grapefruit, bit of bread

Flavours: Grapefruit, lemon, lime and other citrus. Sweeter flavours like apple and peach come out after the beer is open for a bit.

Mouthfeel: Thinner with average carbonation.

Overall: An interesting blend of citrus that turns towards the sweet side after the beer is open a while. I found it a little on the thin side but the interesting flavours made this one an enjoyable beer.

750 ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is floral, fruits, honey. Taste is same, plus grassy hops. This is a pretty good beer.
