A clear brown ale with a thin white head. In sweet fruity malt with light rye, dried fruits, orange peels, nice. In mouth, loads of spices, caramel malt, nutmeg and cinnamon, alcohol warmth. gilvanblight (825) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 19, 2013
Darker than expected pour, very hazy, can’t see through it. The thick parts are brown with the thing parts (of the glass) showing a nice amber. Def. looks good. Smells like a mixed drink more than a beer. Toffee and candy. Kind of tastes like a mixed drink. Like a weak spiced rum. It’s spicy the kind of spice that lingers on the tongue a cinnamon kind of hot. It’s sweet as well. Boozy, now that I actually like in a beer or mixed drink. That tongue burn lingers. Okay this isn’t bad, it’s very different. It’s probably the best thing I’ve had from Nickel Brook. Just doesn’t have enough beer characteristics for me. bottle. Poured clear deep copper with a thin beige head. Very spicy aroma, ginger and vanilla. Medium thick mouthfeel, a bit oily. Flavour is tart cherry, peppery notes, and nutmeg. There’s a whole lot going on here.
