Large, frothy white head shows moderate retention, atop a lemon custard tinted golden body with high clarity.
Pungent pinesol breaks through lemony sugar cookies with light notes of bitter orange and cherry-like fruitiness. Somewhat muted, though I’m not sure why, as it’s not yeasty, nor is it dirty. In the flavor, I do get a little bit of hop particulate blandness, dulling the otherwise playful citrus flavors. Seems a touch too bitter for its own good though, and eventually the citrus gives way to light resin notes, burning ever so slightly and outdoing the dry, yet mostly amply malted medium body. Light white bread, sponge cake and nuttiness sits on the end as well, really at odds with the lemon and acidic citrus/pine. Still, it’s dry, it’s got a lovely, tight carbonation and the alcohol is low, so it remains quite drinkable.
On draft at Lord Hobo in Cambridge. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head. Juicy citrus nose. Flavors of lemon with some grassy notes. Crisp, clean finish
