Canned 7/28/16, drunk 8/15 and 8/25/16.
Large, white head tops a lightly-to-moderately hazy, peachy-gold body. Strong retention.
Oranges and pineapple mix with a healthy dose of acidity but also some softer nectarine/peach/apricot juiciness. Oddly enough, I drank the first half of the beer that had been sitting in the fridge for two weeks without rolling the can to stir up the particulate. I then drank the second half after gently swirling the can. Made a world of difference, and not just on the texture, as expected. The clear, non-particulate-laden beer seemed lackluster and too malt-forward, with strong lemon-grapefruit bitterness but not enough in the way of juicier hop flavors. After mixing it in, the texture improved, obviously, but the hop flavor now included much more of the stone fruit, soft tangerine and spicy orange notes that were missing. Moderately bitter, overall, but not what you’d expect for these three hops. They do a masterful job at Night Shift, of controlling the acidity, regardless of how prone the hops are to becoming overly acidic/resinous. Great stuff, as usual from this series.

4 pack purchased at Redstone Liquors, Andover, MA. Consumed 8/18/16. Still yet another edition of the never ending Morph series. White bubbly head steadily fades to almost nothing or any lacing. Hazy golden liquid. Aroma is raw pineapple, light grapefruit and plenty of pale grain.

Plenty of malty backbone to go with the steady amount of citrus/ grapefruit, pine and mild tropical fruit notes. I wouldn’t say this is under-carbonated but it is lower than normal. Heavy fruit mixed with pine and the malt helps keep the bitterness down but it still has a pretty long lingering affect over the palate. Pretty nicely balanced. A joy to drink.

I knew absolutely nothing about this brewery until today. A co-worker went up and brought stuff back home and i for a couple cans. Very glad i did. This is my second offering and its the second well brewed enjoyable beer. Dank and earthy finish. If I’m ever in Massachusetts ill be sure to stop here.
