joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - OCT 27, 2016Can from ClarkVV. Thanks again pal! It pours a hazy yellow/orange color with a frothy white head. The aroma is strong with grapefruit, orange, light notes of pineapple. Light spice and white bread in the background. The flavor is a bit more dank, but still lots of citrusy orange zest and grapefruit. There’s background notes of some earthy green onion, pepper and spice. Medium to strong orange zest bitterness. Hints of lime in the finish. A bit too bitter for my tastes, but I’m loving the complex citrus hop character and pale maltiness. Another good one from these guys.
ClarkVV (7294) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 18, 2016I feel like I’ve had about a 12 pack worth of this batch, pretty well-distributed over the course of 4 weeks, as recently as 10/16/16.
Good, thoroughly hazy, though not soupy, golden-bronze body is topped by a large, well-retained, white head.
Vic’s secret provides plentiful mango and papaya notes, juicy and bright, while the falconers flight provides a more austere lemon-grapefruit character. A good balance, with some lightly sweaty, almost Citra-like notes and lots of nectarine and spicy pepper character lingering. True to the series, the malts are biscuity/crackery and stay out of the way of the hops, while no alcohol or flaw is noted. Low resin, as well.
Bright, very citric and with a healthy bitterness, it’s softened by both biscuity malts, with light honey-like sweetness and softer, juicier tropical and nectarine notes. Tight, engaging carbonation and good attenuation with a malty texture. Maybe a touch more citric-oriented than I’d prefer, with lots of dry, bitter lemon, orange rind and white grapefruit, but it’s still very drinkable and well-done.
AdamChandler (5276) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 17, 2016Very hazy looks like orange juice with a 1 finger white head. smells like tangerines. Chalky with a thick dense like oatmeal texture. Dense mouthfeel. chalky and sweet with a tannic bitterness of orange juice.
AirForceHops (8421) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 15, 201616 oz. can, thanks ClarkVV. Turbid, bright yellow color. Aroma is citrus, mild grass, tropical fruit, and pale grain.
The body is on the lighter side of medium with a nice citrus upfront with a lightly grassy bitterness. Lengthy bitterness after the sip.
WillRunForBeer (2832) - Massachusetts, USA - OCT 1, 2016Taster at the source. Pours pale yellow gold with a white head. Aroma is mango, Earl grey. This has a light malt backbone, mango, grapefruit, Earl grey. Nice.
PhillyCraft (8538) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 25, 2016Fresh can, I think this was Bravo, Falconers Flight and another crappy hop....didint have a chance unfortunately. Hazy orange golden shade. Notes of orange and lemon, grass, cheese, and grapefruit. Overly bitter in the finish. Not awful considering the hops but a few ounces was plenty
