Quite hazy, though not soupy. Pale, brass-golden with a good-sized white head showing moderately strong retention.
Spicy/floral bouquet in the nose is a nice departure from the massive tropical juice bombs of late. Simcoe and mosaic seem to be quite prominent, lending a more dry juiciness (nectarine, white grapefruit), dry pineapple and tons of wood. Lemon and lime pulp and tons of black pepper on the finish. Really interesting nose and quite aromatic, with no resin or alcohol or flaw. Yet there’s just a touch of that simcoe-like cattiness that persists somewhat, that I’m not in love with.
Great softness to the texture, much to my surprise, given all of the dry, woody elements of the nose. Pine and pineapple as expected, from these two intense hops. Very flavorful with honey-like malts building up. Tightly carbonated and almost zero bitterness, which on one hand, is very impressive, given the hops we’re dealing with, but on the other, really puts the focus on the malt. Would actually like a bit more bitterness here. Nonetheless, this is still a unique and interesting APA.
Yellow color out of the can with a fluffy white head. Sweet citrus and idank hop nose. Lighter body but just tons of juicy hop flavors. Orange juice, tropical fruit and a dank resin. There is a long hop burn on the tongue. Intense hop beer for the ABV. onceblind (10897) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 21, 2017
Hazy golden with a thin rocky white head. Big leafy and fluffy and pithy aroma with a subtle pretzel background. Nice balanced flavor that’s leafy and aromatic with citrus pith and gentle leafy dankness and a lingering fluffy leafy fresh hoppiness and muddled pale biscuity malt. Drank from the can. Floral aroma. Medium body. Pine and grassy flavors with some mango type towards the back end. A little resiny. Very flavorful for a light, low abv pale ale.
