Odysseyalien's rating

Odysseyalien (73) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 7, 2013
Bottle. Age unknown but it looks like the one in the picture at this site. No head when poured. Thin lacing...almost cirrus cloud-like formations as it’s sipped away. Golden in color in my snifter...a few bits of light sediment accumulating at the bottom of the glass. The taste comes on in fine British barley wine style -- malts up front...raisins...pepper...light hops...yum. Unfortunately, it’s a bit too thin on the palate for my taste. Almost like sipping water on the backend. Too bad cause this might otherwise have been one of the best British barley wines out there for the price. The "thiness" of the backend killed it for me. Not sure if I’ll buy this one again.

GIJOE (1208) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - MAY 29, 2017
Pours a dark reddish amber with a fluffy white head that's gone quickly. Nose is roasted malt and caramel; notes of cherry and fig, booze. Taste is quite sweet up front. Bitter aftertaste. Nice brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle. Clear amber body with a minimal white head. Caramel, honey, figs, grass and dark sugars. Finishes a bit dry.

UbbeK (4) - SWEDEN - APR 22, 2016 does not count
U: mörk bärsstens röd. Lågt Offwhite färgat skum. Klar. Litet Kolsyrepus. A: Bob's blandsaft. Söt karamellig malt. Körsbärssylt. Något dammig. S/M: Fikon. Daddlar. Något söt. Saftig. Lätt alkoholvarmande känsla. Väldigt lugn i smaken. Homogen. Har utvecklats sig bra. Men något smaklöst är den. Full kropp. Lite kolsyra. Mjuka bubblor. Len vätska. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mycket bra!

VsXsV (4442) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 13, 2015
Bottle. 2011 vintage. Clear deep ruby liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of raw sugar, port wine, dried fruit, toffee, sweet alcohol and raisins. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar, port wine, toast and nuts. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty drinkable for the ABV. Has aged well.

330ml bottle from Systembolaget. Clear, amber, fluffy white head. Sweet aroma, roasted malt, caramel, red wine, cherries, alhohol. Medium body, gentle carbonated, smooth mouth feel. The taste is very sweet, caramel, fermented red apples, dried dark fruit, sherry, nuts. Bitterness and malt in the finish.

slowrunner77 (12051) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUN 17, 2015
sweet leaning - caramel raisins and toffee on the nose, with a nip of alcohol. Sweet and thick going down. Gotta be in the mood for this type of BW, but it’s nice.
