4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A light coffee beer is what I like about this beer. The scent is not excessive. The taste is good, however when I do not drink coffee. But of course good. The aftertaste is left long and great coffee taste. A really good beer when I still do not like coffee.
Version 2008: The aroma is sweet, a little coffee, a little clove and a touch dates. Pours a dark brown with very little light brown head, fully diminishing. The taste is a light bitter. The body is light, the texture creamy to thin, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter. Ok, probably sat on this for way too long! SpringsLicker (3644) - Tennessee, USA - JAN 1, 2016

bottle @ home. 2011 vintage. Pours black with a reddish hue and a lasting beige head. Dry roasted aroma with distinct espresso notes, coffee beans, dark fruits, vinous plums, licorice, chocolate, ash. Dry taste with sweet dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, espresso, licorice, red fruits. slighlty vinous with hints of vanilla, dark bread and cream. Lingering dry coffee roast bitterness and licorice.
Has aged (sustained) incredibly well considering the ABV and amount of fresh coffee flavors still present. Stuu666 (13625) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 23, 2015

Alengrin (5438) - BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2014
UPDATED: APR 9, 2017 Coffee stout with actual Gatsinga coffee beans taken from an artisanal Swedish coffee-roasting company; tasted at a Vilvordia Bierproeffestival eight-odd years ago, apparently this beer has ceased to exist in the meantime. Creamy, light beige head, colour as good as black. Rich, tempting, full aroma of obviously a lot of coffee and coffee beans, sour cream, chocolate, dried plums, nutmeg. Light sourish taste with dark fruits, full maltiness and loads of coffee powder, creamy mouthfeel, strong roasted bitterness in the end. Very nice, if you don’t mind coffee in your stout. 330ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear dark brown, no head. Aromas of treacle, light roast. Taste is sweet. Beginning to think they forgot the coffee in this batch. It ain’t there. All sweetness. Burgers (344) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 13, 2014
Very dark brown with fading crema. Nose is malty, roast coffee, burnt sugar. Palate smooth. Finish dry and slightly burnt.
