Bottled. Poured medium-deep brown with a sticky cap of dark tan head. The aroma picked up a hefty and lovely dose of moderately-roasted coffee and dark chocolates, with complementary accents of vanilla and lactic sweets. The flavor was also centered around the coffee, with more of a burnt impression and some slightly sour beans (in a good way).. coffee bitterness and some molasses/tarry sweetness on the edges.. left more coffee along with a nice spicy note on the finish. Medium-bodied with a grainy feel from the coffee on the palate.. enough prickly carbonation to move it along.. really good brew, but I won’t buy it again at its price.
Version 2008: The aroma is sweet, a little coffee, a little clove and a touch dates. Pours a dark brown with very little light brown head, fully diminishing. The taste is a light bitter. bottle @ home. 2011 vintage. Pours black with a reddish hue and a lasting beige head. Dry roasted aroma with distinct espresso notes, coffee beans, dark fruits, vinous plums, licorice, chocolate, ash. Dry taste with sweet dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, espresso, licorice, red fruits. slighlty vinous with hints of vanilla, dark bread and cream. Lingering dry coffee roast bitterness and licorice.

Versión 2011, Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza, 6.4% Cerveza de color casi negro con reflejos chocolate. Buena formación de espuma y buena estabilidad. En nariz aparecen notas de malta torrefacta que receurdan a café, suave y dulce chocolate con leche, madera y leves notas ahumadas. En boca hay buena correspondencia con el aroma pero las notas de chocolate se hacen más predominantes, presencia discreta de lúpulo. Final seco y amargo proveniente del uso de la malta torrefacta. UPDATED: APR 9, 2017 Coffee stout with actual Gatsinga coffee beans taken from an artisanal Swedish coffee-roasting company; tasted at a Vilvordia Bierproeffestival eight-odd years ago, apparently this beer has ceased to exist in the meantime. Creamy, light beige head, colour as good as black. Rich, tempting, full aroma of obviously a lot of coffee and coffee beans, sour cream, chocolate, dried plums, nutmeg. Light sourish taste with dark fruits, full maltiness and loads of coffee powder, creamy mouthfeel, strong roasted bitterness in the end. Very nice, if you don’t mind coffee in your stout.
