It seems like these nils oscar beers are having a big problem with head retention and texture. This, the 4th nils i’ve had.. has apauling retention, almost looks like a soft drink. Interesting sweet aroma, some saaz which is nice, but there is a lot of corn in there too. The flavour is so dominated by corn that it is hard to identify any other flavours as it carries through to the finish and also the aftertaste. There is also not too much bitterness to note. As far as lagers go its not too bad, but its a long way from the quality you expect (and pay for) from nils oscar. elektronikfagtekniker (891) - kbh, DENMARK - AUG 10, 2006

Bottle. Light golden in colour with a white head. Malty and sweet and also has a nice hoppyness. Wellbalanced sweetness and bitterness. Rune (13375) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUL 18, 2006
330ml bottle. Pale golden topped with some lasting foam. Inviting hoppy aroma. The flavour contains citrus and honey sweetness. Bitter finish. Medium bodied. A well made lager (Sampled at a drinking session in Kiruna, Sweden 13.07.2006).

Bottle 0,33l. Golden colour. A white semi-lasting head. Sweet all the way with some fruity hints. Veer (362) - Landskrona, SWEDEN - JUL 4, 2006
Aroma: hops, applelike (in a czech way), boring, summer.
Appearance: golden yellow w/ white head.
Flavor: disappointing (because it is a lager, I’m sorry but I just don’t like lagers), bitter, slightly sweet, well balanced, however not my style.
Palate: fizzy, rich Svesse (8742) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUN 5, 2006
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 3 June) Colour is golden, with a rocky head (like whipped cream), slowly disappearing leaving some laces. Nose is malty, nutty with butter-scotch and a lovely czech-style hop character. Some honey-like sweetness. Taste starts malty and nutty with butter-scotch and chestnut, turning into a smooth hoppy finish. Honey-like sweetness stays through the finish, and becomes a bit too sweet towards the end. The bottled version is slightly drier an more balanced, maybe not as complex. A very nice premium lager. lgklotet (432) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 5, 2006
Probably one of, if not the best lagers being produced in Sweden right now. Rich malt taste, balanced by nice hoppy aftertaste. A regular in my fridge. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAY 1, 2006
(Bottle) Probably one of the best beers I tried in Sweden. Golden color with off white head. More flavor then I expected, with a nice balance between the malts and hops. Nice mouthfeel and pleasant aftertaste.
