Bottle. Pours clear copper with a medium sized, beige head. Caramel and hops in the aroma. At first a bit sweet/malty in the taste, then a dry bitter finish. Medium body, caramel/malt-flavours lingers. hackobock (4073) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 25, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2011 Bottle from Systembolaget. Clear red/amber in color, small white head. Aroma is dominated by malt, hard bread, caramel some dried fruit. An underlying bitterness is present all the way through with a fairly light finish.
Medium body with an average carbonation. Fits well with the christmas food, ClubGonzo (5685) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 19, 2011
Bottle. Pours a clear amber body with a tiny white head. Nose is caramel, cellar moist, deep malts and some roasty hints. Taste is smooth malty tones, caramel and hints of that basement stuff again. Seems to work all right in the mix, though, for some reason. Very soft carbonation, to the point where it comes across as a bit boring; same with taste. OK, but not too exciting. Bright dark ruby red in the glass, with little foam. Strong smell of caramel malt, also hoppy-bitter. Starts hoppy, very bitter, with a distinct hint of caramel in the background. The middle part is very hoppy, distinctive bitter-tart. The beer goes into a very malty and bitter finish, characterized by a caramelly and nutty aroma.
Fruchtig-malziger Antrunk, etwas getreidig, süßlich. Herb-bitter im weiteren Verlauf, angenehm aber nicht stark aromatisch, mittelintensiv. 9/8/9/9/9/9

330 ml bottle. Brown and crystal clear. Small off-white fine-laced head. Earthy caramelly aroma with notes of hazelnuts and honey. Crisp carbonation and rich nutty malt flavours. Thick texture. Pepper and lemons. Finish is drier and lightly bitter. A nicely balanced Christmas beer. Enjoyable. LoFi (1748) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 26, 2010
Bottle. Between amber and ruby with an off-white head. Aroma: knäck, fruit, grassy and earthy hops. Taste: knäck, apples, grassy hops, some pepper in the bitterness, some roasted malt, a bit metallic. Medium-bodied with noticeable carbonation. This is nice, would work well with many Christmas dishes. Mad_Ferret (1024) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 18, 2010
Clear copper colour with off-white head. Caramel malt, hops and roasty fudgy notes on the nose. Systembolagets site say jasmine rice, and I think theres some truth in that. Taste is malty with roasty caramel, fruit, bread and some hops. Nice balance. I like Kalasöl and I like this too. Maybe there’s nothing especially christmas about this beer, but who cares?
