COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer has its orgin in the Bavarian beer type ’festbier’ or ’oktoberfestbier’. Like ’festbier’ and ’vienna style beer’, Nils Oscar Kalasöl is of a somewhat darker type. The Nils Oscar Kalasöl is produced with both münchenermalt, dark caramelmalt, chocolatmalt and some roasted barley. The choice of hops is a mix of four kinds where the most characteristic are brittish fuggles, american cascade and czech saaz.
Kalasöl is a rounded beer with a mildly roasted breadish character. It can be recommended together with heavy foods, like joints of roast meat, spicy stews, broiled meat and fowl.

brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - SEP 26, 2012
The beer is a dark amber color with an off-white head. The nose is slightly toasty with some caramel and toffee, a bit of bread as well. Very mild hop aroma, just a bit of floral and earthy notes. The flavor has no real character to it. Some bland malt flavors of toast and stale bread. Minimal hop notes and no discernible bitterness. Very bland.

Slight hazy orange with a solid white head. Aroma is sweet of malts (caramel & bread), sugar & honey. Taste is of the same and some spices & a nice dosis of hops (citrus/flowers). Medium body & carbonation. Good lacings. Nice bitter end. A very good Vienna!!!

Warm caramel malt aroma. Amber color with an ephemeral white head. Medium in body with mild carbonation. The flavor is roasted caramel with spicey hop. Something like an ESB, actually. The finish is well balanced with a decent amount of bitter. It’s a very tasty drink.
