COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer has its orgin in the Bavarian beer type ’festbier’ or ’oktoberfestbier’. Like ’festbier’ and ’vienna style beer’, Nils Oscar Kalasöl is of a somewhat darker type. The Nils Oscar Kalasöl is produced with both münchenermalt, dark caramelmalt, chocolatmalt and some roasted barley. The choice of hops is a mix of four kinds where the most characteristic are brittish fuggles, american cascade and czech saaz.
Kalasöl is a rounded beer with a mildly roasted breadish character. It can be recommended together with heavy foods, like joints of roast meat, spicy stews, broiled meat and fowl.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2006 Bottle. Nice head that disappeared to quick. Dark, copper color. Aroma with lots of malt, but also delicious fruity hints. The taste has some roasted element, but mostly malt-flavour, with a little alcohol in it.Quite balanced. Finishes with a light bitter aftertaste. Its a shame I only bought one bottle. (050825)

Wonderful Munich lager with a deep copper colour and lots of complex maltiness.

Nice fruity hops nose, grapefruit, cat pee. Malty balance. Red amber clear with ligh lacig head. Light-medium body with medium carbonation. Starts with nice malt, tangy hopy character. Nice rounded bitterness, with sweetness at the back of the throat. Finish is dry, clean, bitter. Good malt note before a medium bitter after. Nice beer.
