5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Smooth brew with roasty/nutty flavor, true to its' name. Nice finish. A excellent beer of it's style.
Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark brown color with a nice finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Semi-foamy rings of lace form around the glass.
The aroma had some nutty sweet and toasty malts. Some dried chocolate malts and a touch of earthiness and grassiness.
The flavor smoothly enriches the sweet to the roastiness and brings in a subtle bitterness of some coffee beans. Earthy and grassy hops kindly move into the background. The aftertaste blends the sweet and roastiness of nuts, malts and grassy hops. Quick dry grassy finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Moveable on my tongue with an appropriate ABV and good carbonation.
Overall, pretty good brown ale that I could come back to if I saw it. ajnepple (7052) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 19, 2017
12 oz single bottle from Total Wine & More - Gilbert, AZ. Dark brown appearance with a lingering tan head and light lacing. Aroma of pine, chocolate, nutty malts, roasted grain, light coffee and light earthy hops. Similar flavor, rich and bittersweet with a light dry finish, a little on the hoppy side. A solid roasty brown ale overall. bytemesis (9191) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - OCT 6, 2016
Tap. Pours clear chestnut, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is roasty, cocoa, hints of ashtray. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter. Medium body. Decent. thetmaxx (927) - West Sacramento, California, USA - JUL 25, 2015
Poured from the bottle in Show Low, AZ. NICE dark red crimson color. Nice head thin lacing. Aroma is nice caramel and roasted malt. Flavor has to be one of the best brown ale I’ve had in a long time. Really nice roasted notes with coffee flavors. Which the bitterness blended nicely. Pretty darn good. rollinsr (817) - Atlanta, GEORGIA - JUL 16, 2015
Pours a rich dark brown with foamy tan head. Aroma is dark prunes with light smoked malt. Flavor is smooth with more light dark fruits and some glassy off-flavors.

Draft at brewpub. Deep mahogany, nice beige head. Caramel. A little nutty. A little metallic. Perfumey. Light body. Watery. Boring I guess.. MarinEvelyn (868) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 23, 2015
Very perfumey taste. A little dry, bitter, not my favorite. The perfume like taste just ruins it for me maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - FEB 26, 2015
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a very small head on there. Nose has hints of nuttiness to it, but is not particularly fragrant. Taste is also just a bit sour, and seems like it’s spoiled a bit. Not very good. SlimHabib (484) - Redondo Beach, California, USA - NOV 25, 2014
Bottle pour. Dark brown with creamy tan head. Chocolate, nut, and coffee aroma. Creamy medium body. Chocolate and coffee taste. rdixon77 (3010) - Georgia, USA - OCT 11, 2014
Forgettable brown. Chocolate brown colored. Nutty and chocolate taste. Slightly bitter finish. Not horrific, but just another brown.
