12oz bottle poured black with a nice brown head. The aroma was rich with oats, chocolate and roast. The taste was slightly bitter at first then rounds out with a big palate. Overall a nice rich oatmeal stout more than a sweet stout. Icommonsewer (125) - TUCSON, Arizona, USA - AUG 15, 2007
this is a very nice local stout that stacked up well in the year long ’greatest stout’ search my wife and I conducted in 2006-7 GlenVargas (148) - Missouri, USA - SEP 11, 2007
The nitrogen-charged oatmeal stout is the best beer on tap at Nimbus (as of September 9th). Of course, I know there’s a lot of complaining about nitrogen making beer taste like month-old milk. Still, for me, the nitrogen does a lot to preserve the sweetness and creamy palate of the stout. When sipping the Nimbus oatmeal stout, it seems a little thin on taste as soon as it hits the tongue, but the finish is surprisingly flavorful (chocolate, coffee, oats). Every drink left me wanting another. Malty_MacHops (688) - Eastanollee, Georgia, USA - DEC 22, 2012

UPDATED: APR 30, 2005 Bottled. Pours very dark brown , with a thin tan head. Very smokey and somewhat sour on the nose. Creamy and smokey, dark burt malts, orange chocolate, earth, and very smooth in the finish. Nice creamy thick body. Had imperial qualities just not the alcohol level. Very flavorful. Bottle from a generous friend in Phoenix!. Thanks Mojo! Pours an almost black color with nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malt with a hint of chocolate and coffee. Taste is slightly sweet and creamy from the oatmeal. Has a bit of hops in the finish. This is a nicely balanced sweet stout. Very drinkable and smooth. bsierra (213) - Vista, California, USA - MAR 31, 2008
Pours deep and dark brown as an Oatmeal Stout should. Head was a little quick to disapate but no biggie. Nose was rich and malty with subtle hints of hops. Flavor is very roasted malt with nice touches of chocolate and creamyness. Very pleasing mouthfeel and nice finish where the ekg hops add a great balance. This is a very stand-up stout, will drink this one again. superspak (5600) - Michigan, USA - MAY 12, 2013
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled in 11/2012. Pours clear nearly opaque dark brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, oatmeal, cocoa, caramel, light coffee, floral, mint, and herbal earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with solid balance and complexity of roasted notes with a prominent amount of hops. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, oatmeal, toast, caramel, light coffee, floral, mint, and herbal earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, oatmeal, caramel, light coffee, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of roasted malt flavors with light-moderate hop presence; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with almost zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice oatmeal stout. Well balance with nice flavor robustness and complexity; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
