Nimbus Red Ale is a rich, medium-bodied American-style amber ale. Known for its sophisticated mouth feel and exceptional drinkability, our Red Ale is a true classic. Copper-hued and well-balanced, Nimbus Red Ale has a lightly sweet taste enhanced with the flavor of four different malt varieties and flaked barley. We brew this beer with handpicked Chinook and Cascade hops. This combination gives our Red a mild malt sweetness and a relatively dry, aromatic finish. Never bitter, Nimbus Red is sure to please the beer lover who enjoys lighter flavors and a lower alcohol content. It's crisp, refreshing taste has made our Red a fixture at major sporting events throughout Southern Arizona.

Poured a lightly hazed light amber color with a very large off-white head. Papery aroma with toffee notes and a caramel flavor. Citrus hop finish.

Semi- floral aroma with just the lightest scent of hop and dish wash soap. Creates huge soapy white foam and sits upon a glowing auburn red. Some flakes are visible. The initial flavor is sour and tart with a fruit presence of grapefruit or unripe green grapes. Actually this taste a lot like green grape blended with a little bit of applejuice. How strange is that? Cool logo but mediocre beer

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2008 Pours amber w/ a shallow froth. Aroma is malty w/ some hop spice. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. A nice amber w/ a mild hop backbone. Finish is bittered nicely.

Bottle: Dirty carmel, rather dark with a slight hue of red, huge foamy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Tart nose, somewhat herbal, unflavored pixie stix as well.   Tart herbal flavors, almost vegetal.   Fairly airy mouthfeel, either overcarbonated or more likely turning a bit.   Hop aspect is minimal, malts are a bit more pronounced, but overall its just a semi-sweet herbal tartened brew.   This one may require a re-rate as I dont think this was intended.   Ill be back in Phoenix soon enough to try it again.

Had one in Tucson Airport, during a 3 hour delay. A beer so diferent to others you just have to have one. Once you taste it you got to have another. It is rich in flavor, not so in aroma. Thick foam-head, actually good flavor. Maybe the best beer Ive had in a long time.

Bottle. Cloudy amber pour, thin head. Malty aroma with notes of floral hops and paper. Flavor starts sweet and turns bitter. A touch of grapefruit and some off-putting perfuminess. Thin body and moderate carbonation. The hop and malt balance left a strange aftertaste for me. Not a favorite.

Bottle thanks to cbkschubert, Thanks craig. Poured a hazy(amber) body with thin head, decent carbonation. sweet malty aroma with a light floral/hoppy feel, something else I cant pinpoint. Taste was sweet with malt, slight cherry detected. Good amber. Very drinkable and smooth.

Dark mud/orange color with a thin white film of head. Aroma is very odd. Earthy and sweet, but there are some hops hidden in there. The flavor is odd, with some metallic notes and some odd hop notes. A very weird red ale.

12 oz bottle courtesy of FlacoAlto. Thanks! Pours a cloudy orange with a HUGE white bubbly head, had to let it settle for about 5 minutes before i could fit the whole bottle in my snifter. I actually smell like a toned down hot tomale... hmmm. Very malty, doesnt really taste like most ambers ive had. But interesting, in a good way. Good beer in a unique kind of way.
