COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nimbus Red Ale is a rich, medium-bodied American-style amber ale. Known for its sophisticated mouth feel and exceptional drinkability, our Red Ale is a true classic. Copper-hued and well-balanced, Nimbus Red Ale has a lightly sweet taste enhanced with the flavor of four different malt varieties and flaked barley. We brew this beer with handpicked Chinook and Cascade hops. This combination gives our Red a mild malt sweetness and a relatively dry, aromatic finish. Never bitter, Nimbus Red is sure to please the beer lover who enjoys lighter flavors and a lower alcohol content. It's crisp, refreshing taste has made our Red a fixture at major sporting events throughout Southern Arizona.

BCMike22 (92) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 18, 2008
Poured into Red Sox pint glass. Enormous head that lingers long after the pour. Rich red color, but not overly dark. Malty nose. Complex malt flavors, one of which is (again) sour. Clean aftertaste for such a complex brew.

Bottle at home. Pours hazy amber with a large, frothy off-white to beige head, long retention. Aroma is light caramel malt, moderate bready malt, medium pine and citrus hops. Flavor is lightly fruity esters, light caramel malt, moderate bready malt, medium pine, spruce and resin hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

12 oz single bottle from Total Wine & More - Gilbert, AZ. Reddish amber appearance with a huge, gushing beige head, mostly dissipating. Aroma of caramel, toffee, toasted malt and light hops. Similar flavor, leading to a lingering bittersweet finish. Medium body with a slight watery feel. Decent overall.

I really enjoy the skunky taste of this beer. Good mix of malts and hops. One of my favorite nimbus beers.

Recently purchased 12 oz bottle. Like other beers from this lousy brewery, this one gushed out of the pint glass with just a small pour. The aroma is bad and the flavor worse. Incompetently crafted and highly likely to be infected. I have had had 4-5 other beers from the brewery, from multiple sources on different occasions, all of which were bad. Moreover, both of the other two people I know who have had a Nimbus have had similar poor experiences, also ending with a drain pour. I can now put this on my small list of never again breweries and urge anyone reading this to do the same. O: AVOID!

10/5/14. 12oz bottle from Exit 18. Hazy amber red pour with a small khaki head that sticks and laces okay. A bit of cardboard and nuttiness on the aroma, sweet toffee. More in the flavor, nutty, a bit of green grass, chocolate, and sweet toffee. Not as bad as I was expecting.

Appearance: Lovely hazy amber color with a big off white head that leaves a nice lacing.
Aroma: Citrus hoppy, malty, herbal and mild fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a fine bitterness. Average to rich carbonation.
Taste: Herbal, malty, fruity and mild citric.
Overall impression: A fine tasty ale.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with RobertDale

My first from Arizona. US State #34

Twelve ounce bottle from Beer Of The (Every Other) Month Club, tasted on October 26, 2013. Dark amber color, surprisingly firm bittersweet nose with strong malty backbone, interesting bittersweet flavor that’s like a cross between a bitter and an amber ale.

Bottle from BevMo, Phoenix. Sweet caramel malt aroma with a hint of hops. Pours caramel-amber colored with a thin, white head and no lacing. Sweet and malty to start with a lot of caramel. Finishes dry and fairly smooth with only a slight hoppy bite that lingers on the palate. Nice and refreshing take on a red. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
