chocolate, coffee, roasty aroma, black, tan foam appearance. Think and solid brew.
heavy cloying sweetness, medium bitterness, followed by roasted chocolate with a touch of malt molasses body.
full body, creamy, soft carbonation, long finish,
This is a tasty high gravity stout. Nice roast through out the excperiance.
Keg the Local. Black af. Very little tan head. Huge roasted burnt toast aroma, hint of coffee. The taste is very dry, but lots of roasty coffee and dry hops. Quite a big booze hit. Smoother than I expected. Good. BuckeyeBoy (8861) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 26, 2017
22-ounce bottle pours a black top with a brown head. Nose is sweet chocolate malts coffee some light vanilla and pit fruit. Taste is more of the pit fruit-forward rich malts chocolat and coffee. beerplace (2330) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 3, 2016
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2016 On tap at Alibi Room. Pours a black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, some whiskey notes. Taste is sweet, dark fruits, grains, roasted malt. Totally burnt malt aftertaste. Not enough gravity and complexity as for Imperial Stout. Not bad, though. northropfrye (3732) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 22, 2016
On tap at Alibi Room Vancouver. Tried back to back with Upright Imperial Stout. Dark. Sweet malted barley. Not as dark As other one. Perhaps needs some bitterness to balance. Over all good. kathouse (1942) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - FEB 7, 2016
Coffee and roasted character from start to finish. Slight astringency but not strong and easily tolerated. Roasted through the end.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a tihck, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, grapes, earth, alcohol, oak, vanilla and a bit of lactose. Medium-bodied; Strong sweetness up front with caramel and vanilla along with the lactose, showing some grape anid pit fruits and a good but shallow malt flavour and some oak and dry roastiness. Aftertaste shows some coffee flavours, a bit of the caramelised sugars, a touch of peat and malt and a little soy sauce bitterness as well. Overall, not as bad as I was expecting from the other reviews, but not great either - I believe the age helped this one out a bit with a very subdued flavour and a nice smooth finish with no harshness at all. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 08-November-2014 for US$6,50 sampled at home in Washington on 18-January-2016. I had been given a bottle of this by a student of mine from Portland, and I let it age for a few years. I opened it at the annual holiday gathering of my closest friends, and it was quite excellent. All of the hop profile that seems to have been a hallmark of this had been softened, and although rich, it isn’t as ridiculously thick as some Imperial Stouts--a trait I once adored for which I am now a little less enthusiastic. It may have just been the experience, or the aging, but this was a very nice bottle of beer. Bottle. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - DEC 9, 2015
Short lasting 1 finger brownish head... only okay lacing.. the brew is the expected black.
Nose is a bit odd... roasty, but a dark dried fruitiness seems pretty high for the style... dark cherries and some milk chocolate.. not nearly enough "big stout" qualities for my liking.
Flavor begins with mild roasty qualites... again fruity esters come in quickly and hang on to the finish.. light coffee and chocolate.. okay... needs more heft for sure.
Body is sorta thin for such a big stout...
This is an okay brew.. I doubt it will get better with more time in the bottle. Blairgus (4615) - California, USA - AUG 19, 2015

Inky black with a thin foamy head of a light tan hue. Earthy nose with some roasted black malt tones. The flavor is a bit boozy and earthy and bland, just roasted black malt in there and some gentle char, and light booze. Really one dimensional and disappointing.
