First beer after arriving back to society. The patchouli handcream isn’t helping nail down the aroma. The taste is pretty good and powerful. Plenty of pepper, pine, rrgf on the nonsweet side, tangerine. Pretty good feel but damn does this ever fall apart. Very good right off the tap but it dies. I like them to warm a bit - don’t make that mistake with this. It doesn’t suck after but it’s a different beer.

Tap pour at Tilt in Portland. Pint glass. Golden with orange hues. Aroma is heavy on hops with citrus characteristics. Kind of a standard IPA but it’s enjoyable. Taste has plenty of bitterness but it’s offset well by citrus and a little sweetness. Mouthfeel has a bit of oily nature. Aftertaste emphasizes the hoppy side of things. Drinkable with a just above session quality to it. Ninkasi delivers another successful effort.

Bomber bought at Super 1, rated on paper a couple nights ago in my cabin at Lolo Hot Springs. Aroma is strong citrus, lesser floral notes. Pours hazy golden with an off-white lacy head with excellent retention. Tastes pretty old--couldn’t find a date. Medium-high bitterness. Not good. I can tell this would be really tasty fresh so I’ll give some benefit of the doubt.

I choose my tulip glass from the case, crack the cap and lean into the neck. The aroma is bright, and I don’t want to wait to get a good draw on it. I pour a light amber beer into the glass, the head growing quickly under the flow, and rising into a thick, bright white depth, about an inch deep. The aroma is bright, refreshing, sunshiny and full of grapefruit and tangerine, some spruce creeps in on the back end of my deep breath and tightens it all up into a very nice experience. The first draw on the glass proves the point that my olfactory senses are trying to make, this is delicious. It’s light, clean, the flavor mirrors the aroma, and the heady sweetness of the malt is breaking down the bite of the hops. The carbonation is perfect, not too light, not overactive. The further I drink the more I’m convinced I am drinking a sure winner. Then I’m called away for a few minutes, and the experience heads south. The carbonation takes a flying leap out the window in only a few minutes and is no longer there to buoy the fragrance or the flavor. It lies down and takes the great experience with it. The flavor is still there, but I have to look for it. This time, I loved the beer right out of the bottle, but it doesn’t hold up long. Drink this! Definitely drink it, but make sure you drink it fast.

Appearance: slightly hazy pale gold with two fingers of fluffy off-white head, excellent retention and good lacing. (4/5) Aroma: citrus (mostly pithy grapefruit), tropical fruit (mango), pine, mild grass. (8/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderately strong bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, lingering mildly bitter finish. (4/5) Quite nice - a bright and pleasant A/IPA with decent citrus and tropical fruits. Hop forward, with just enough malt to support. Brighter would be nice, sure, but I’m greedy that way. (16/20)

Yellow-gold pour, small white head. Aroma of citrus and caramel, flavor of caramel, citrus, mandarin orange... sweet. Delicious!

Pretty delicious brew. Pours a light, clear gold with a steady stream of carbonation. The head is thick and sticky with tons of lacing. The aroma is fresh, fruity and tropical with almost no malts. Sweet mango and pineapple, light malt sweetness, a bit of floral notes. Nice bitter finish with a lingering metallic note. A bit offputting but a good brew overall.

Bottle (22oz $6): Light golden with 2 finder head. Slightly toasted malts. Slightly sweet. Some fruity ness but the piney aftertaste was metallic which ruined it for me.

Light colored citrus aroma summer ipa. Lightly malty and mild to medium bitterness. Smells better than it tastes with less grapefruit and citrus flavor than expected. Not pleasant flavor.

tap. Loads of mango, tropical fruits in the nose of this one. Really fruity, nice bitterness but some lingering sweetness. Nice enough.
