COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Special Release Series. Noir blends two signature brews of the Pacific Northwest: coffee and beer. This coffee milk stout combines roasted malts with smooth cold brewed coffee from Stumptown Coffee Roasters. A subtle sweetness from milk sugar (lactose) makes this beer reminiscent of the most satisfying cup of joe; distinctive and delectable.

This 22 oz bottle came from Market of Choice in Ashland, Oregon. Poured a very dark brown just short of black with a tan head that lasted a long time and left excellent lacing. Nose is roasted chocolate malts and coffee. Full body. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is very much the coffee, with smooth burnt malt under it, and a little chocolate. Finished coffee bitter. Really tasty stuff.

Bomber. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one finger frothy beige head that faded to a thin film. The nose is pretty delicious, especially for this coffee fan. Lots of black coffee, lactose, roasted malt, some burnt caramel sweetness. The flavor is sweet and heavy on the lactose from front to back, with a nice smooth base of roasted malt and coffee. A hint of burnt malt bitterness helps temper the sweetness somewhat. Medium bodied with a very smooth and velvety mouthfeel. Minimal light carbonation. Pretty tasty beer, especially if you’re into coffee beers.

appearance: typical stout pour; creamy light tan head shrinking to a collar. aroma: milk chocolate, general roast and light coffee. taste: milk and bittersweet dark chocolate blend, with some coffee and a hint of lactic sweetness. finish: dry, talc-like finish, with some lingering lactic notes. notes: Very solid milk stout. Would drink again. Draft at Gilly’s in Rockville, Maryland. ("Where the sandwiches and drafts are delicious and reasonable, but we only accept payments for bottles in pounds. Of diamonds.")

Bottle to tulip Consummation: Chocolate and coffee with milk and brown sugar Adjunct: Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, oak and toasted malt; deep reddish brown with a thin, light tan head; nice one, I enjoyed this very much

Spab (3762) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2017
500 ml bottle from Canada Craft Club. Pours a nearly black dark brown colour with moderate-sized light tan head. Aroma is fairly roasty with cocoa, dark coffee, vanilla and a light lactic sweetness. Flavour has lots of dark roasty notes with coffee most prominent as well as some solid cocoa, along with some more subtle vanilla and lactose to give it just a hint of sweetness. Slick mouthfeel. Nice one.

Poured from bomber into a FW tulip. Dark brown with a light medium sized tan head. Mild nose, mostly ice coffee with a bit of sugar. Smooth taste, goes down easy, just like ice coffee with milk. medium bodied with a creamy texture, overall a pleasant surprise.

Draught on nitro. Quite a bit of coffee coming through, with nice roasting and some hints of chocolate. Extremely smooth and worth a taste.
