Fatehunter (2567) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JUN 22, 2012
Poured out of a bomber into a tulip glass. Black as night with a nice inch and a half of tan, big bubbled head. Smells of roasted malt and dark chocolate. Burnt malt dominates the flavor. The hops grab the tongue with just enough bitterness at the end. Light to medium body, light carbonation. Very drinkable. This is a good stout, solid taste and easy drinking. The only (slight) letdown is the body. A little creaminess or softness is what I expect in an oatmeal stout and it was not there.

hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 5, 2017
Bottle... Pours black with a small, creamy, khaki head. The aroma is super chocolaty - dark chocolate - with a small splash of black strap molasses. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor is a carbonic melange of 85%-cacao dark chocolate, black strap molasses and charcoal. Uber roasty, burnt and a hint sulphury in the finish. Pretty darned good stuff.

Dark brown pour with a brown head. Dark chocolate, roast, nuts, oat, and dry malt flavor. Bit of a booziness on the end of the palate as well.

Black color with a tan head. Roasted grain and caramel on the nose with bittersweet cocoa, plum and roast on the pallet. Not as smooth as the vanilla Oatis but more true to the origins of a fulfilling stout.

Bottle, at Lowell’s in Pike Place, Seattle. Dark brown, almost black pour with not much head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, very rich and roasty. Taste is the same, rich, thick, smooth and roasty with lots of cocoa, milk chocolate and coffee. Not too sweet, nicely flavourful.

Black color with mocha head. Aroma has dark fruits, mostly figs, brown sugar and sweet malt. Taste is really well balanced. First you get the rich malt, followed by a roasty bitterness. Body is not heavy but feels really smooth. Overall it’s a tasty, easy drinking stout with a nice mouthfeel.
