Ungstrup (37561) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 26, 2008
Draft - I was told it was 7.2% ABV at the brewery. A pitch black beer with an orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with an acidic note from the roasted malt - since the flavor is very roasted, but also has notes of oatmeal and chocolate.

Bottle at Endo’s house, from Newport Avenue Market Bend, 24/05/13. Light black with a thin tan head. Nose is roast malt, dark toffee, sugars, light chocolate. Taste comprises roast malt, biscuit, dark toffee, cocoa. Medium bodied, a little spritz in the carbonation, dry roasty curtain call. A so and so stout, drinkable but fairly forgettable.

On tap at TCBF, pours black with a tan head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee and oats. Creamy, smooth palate. Great one.

Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 3, 2010
Dark brown, looks thick. Nice thick head. Rich roasty aroma fulling just short of imperial status with oaty, creamy nuances. Creamy rich, full of oats, very smooth and full-bodied. Chocolatey - dark chocolate bitterness and light roast accents. Maybe some burnt fruit at the back. Excellent spring stout.

Bottle from Bottle Trek. Very dark brown black color with a tan smear that went away. The aroma of chocolate is immense. Body is medium plus with lots of chocolate and a good bit of coffee, followed by smooth burnt toast. Pour your Guinness down the drain.
