3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle from "Lifesource" in Salem.
Pours a typical pils gold colour, the head is very small and goes in a matter of seconds leaving a ring.
Certainlly smells authentic, lots of golden caramel malts along side grassy sharp hop..very nice.
Taste has the hops more prominent and juicy but the malts are still strong, very good indeed!
Good mouth feel..well carbonated and not watery.
Wonders never cease!! I was expecting this to be another plodding attempt at a Pilsner by a Oregon brewery but this was very good indeed.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden color with a small fizzy white head. The head has a weak retention with it fading fast to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The smell of this one is almost non-existent with just the slightest hint of a bready and yeasty smell with a faint whiff of lemon.
Taste – The taste begins with a dry and crisp cracker flavor with just a hint of caramel sweetness. The caramel fades rather rapidly as the taste advances with it gone by the middle of the flavor. After the initial tastes some flavors of a light hay-like and grassy flavor with a hint of grain come to the tongue. The hay and grass get stronger toward the end of the taste with some flavors of an earthy flavor coming to the profile as well. A tiny bit of a lemongrass flavor works its way into the taste over the whole flavor experience as well, leaving a crisp and rather dry taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the slightly more effervescent side. Both the moderate body and higher carbonation are good for the crisp and refreshing drier tastes of the brew as they make for a very easy drinker.
Overall – A crisp and rather clean tasting brew with a good refreshing character. Not a super flavor powerhouse, but a rather easy drinker overall.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours a golden yellow color with a fluffy white head. The aroma has quite a bit of honey bread with some lemony floral hops in the background. The flavor has more spicy hops with some fat honey and lightly butterscotch malts. It finishes with some fresh bread and spicy noble hop bitterness. Full bodied and hugely flavorful for the style, but a bit too much honey-like maltiness. heinesands (10) - Salem, USA - APR 28, 2014
I’ve had this beer a few timesand have grow to love it. Nice fruity/spicy smell with a good appearance. Does have a bit of banana flavor to it, to go with the malt taste. Mildly hopped as well. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - APR 18, 2014
The appearance has a golden yellow color, somewhat hazy, once the head settles its maintains about a one finger somewhat levelness and eventually settles and leaves a wonderful foamy clingy amount of lacing gracing nicely the sides of the glass.
The smell has some Czech-like spicy aroma that allows a decent malty/fruitiness to come through.
The taste has that spicy-like flavor does come back to maintain a decent sharp malty-like aftertaste and leaves a dry somewhat crisp finish.
On the palate, it sits about a light with a carbonation that is good for the style and allocates a fair amount of sharpness on the tongue and mouth, but not too much.
Overall, though pilseners aren’t my true style of choice, I do understand them enough to say this is a decent one, but will also say I did have this other day with some pepperoni pizza and it was a great pilsener to have. Good job, Ninkasi! Oakes (18873) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 14, 2014
Cloudy straw, fruity appley aroma, mod bitterness...bit appley but the malts are a touch heavy but aside from the apples it’s a decent boh pils...though with the Russian name + haze it could be a reasonable hoppy zhivoe.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2014 Decent PILS on tap at the LA beer fest, clear golden pour, small white head, spicy aroma, awesome hops, a little sweet. SHIG (4964) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - MAR 29, 2014
Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow with loads of carbonated bubbles that formed thin white head. Aroma is grassy and grain. Taste was a sour grain, very wet, and metallic hops finish. beersearcher (2383) - Glendale, California, USA - MAR 29, 2014
It pours a very clear dark yellow hue. Thin head and many bubbles streaming from the bottom to the top of my pilsner glass. The aroma has that metallic and slightly sweet note that my taste buds tend to pick up from this style. The taste is very crisp and clean. With a touch of bitterness. It is light but not to the point of watery at all. Grain taste is not there but I do get a twinge of citrus as each sip fades off. cblado (298) - Washington, USA - MAR 26, 2014
12 oz bottle. Pours a golden color, very little head. Aroma is sweet malt, with some hay and grass notes. Yeasty aroma is present too. Flavor has some spicy, bitter hops kick up front, then settles back into a malt flavor. Overall a decent bohemian lager.
