UPDATED: JAN 1, 2016 Draft.A: Cloudy amber with a thin white head.N: Dough, pine, earth, some grapefruit, hint of minerality.T: Bitter and almost sour. Doughy.M: Light body, crisp carbonation, no alcohol presence.O: Mediocre pale. This has a weird hop choice and I would not choose this when there are so many better examples on the market Meilby (11639) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 20, 2015

Pours clear deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, floral, grass, pine and hint of citrus. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long piney, floral and grassy finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
On tap at Church Key, DC. A clear, dark golden beer with a dense, off-white head. Very soft fruity nose with a hint of grapefruit and pine cones. Some pale malts too. Soft carbonation, medium body, rather dry on the palate. Decent bitterness, nice grapefruit and pine cones and some pale malts in the flavor, lasting for a while. Refreshing and tasteful, although a tad weak. 150620 after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - OCT 31, 2014
Draft at SB. Pours a hazy medium amber with a loose and creamy tan head. Mild orange peels on the nose, mostly brown bread and a bit of caramel. Indistinct. Creamy medium body with light carb. Caramel, brown bread, orange peel mid palate...tastes like everybody’s first batch of APA. Not really what we’ve come to expect from Ninkasi. RedSox2004 (1961) - Pacific Palisades, California, USA - SEP 30, 2014
Golden orange with a one-finger white head and nice lacing. Aromas of leafy hops up front, followed by a moderately strong caramel malt. Nice balance of floral hop bitterness and modest caramel sweetness on the tongue. Light to medium body, creamy mouthfeel, medium carbonation and a crisp finish. A beer to have if you’re having more than one.

A very nice balanced pale ale. A little more citrus comes through than some of the peers. A great lunch beer. jredmond (8508) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 22, 2014
Draft at alewife. Pours a copper amber body with this white head and nice lacing. Aroma is faint metallic and stale hop. Dear Christ, I’m praying that this is old because this is god awful. Essentially like drinking wet pennies and stale malted-out hop juice. Not right. drsandman (1587) - New York, USA - JUN 16, 2014
Pours a clear light amber, small head. Aroma is pine, bitter fruit rind, caramel, bread, hops. Taste is super bitter, a little much for my liking on a pale... Not a lot of depth of flavor here, simple bitter APA. fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 16, 2014

Hazy golden color with creamy head. Mild aroma of malt, a bit lemony. The mouthfeel is not too dry, quite round; the malt is present, but its profile is quite simple; the bitterness is strong, but the hop is not shining either, and it ends with some unpleasant chicory bitterness.
Orange amber hue with thick creamy white head. Aroma is hoppy, floral, spicy, caramel, citrus. Mouthfeel is nice with medium body and moderate carbonation. Taste is sweet initial with a strong bitter following and slight CO2 bite in the finish. Overall this is a nice brew but is more of a hoppy amber than a pale ale.
