On draught at bier one in Newport. For such a dark beer, is really refreshing with flavors of bread, banana, and sweetness.

On tap at St Augustine’s on The Drive in Vancouver. Very dark, slightly translucent, with moderate head. Taste is fruity, raisiny, with a hint of banana in there somewhere. A bit of a phenolic and medicinal taste as well. Not bad, but not great. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Good attempt at a German standard.. but needs to be worked on and put in cans ;-)
Picked up a chub fill at Brewforia Meridian tonight for a very respectable $6.. Poured into my small weizen glass.. Decent tannish head rises up about 1" and dies back pretty quickly.. lacing is okay.. but could be a lot better. The brew is hazed walnut... very little light escapes.
Nose is pretty roasty for the style.. light clove phenols and even lesser banana esters bloom up and out.. more roasty than toasty..
Flavor seems more in style, but all the traditional German yeast components are really pretty light.. more clovey than banana.. some blossoming bubblegum with warmth.. light toasty maltiness along with some light caramel presence .. I would like this to be drier.
Only okay across the board.. I get this is a "PNW Dunkelweizen" but I suspect a bunch more temperature control would really help with the yeasty notes. More rich maltiness would be appreciated and bring things in to a more traditional brew.

Aroma has quite a bit of banana esters and phenolic spice to it. The phenolics are mostly clove-like but there is a hint of a medicinal quality. A bit of a toasted bread quality with some roast as well. The toast seems darker than to standards.
Pours a fairly dark brown with some amber notes. A small tab head clings to the edges. Light lacing and small legs.
Flavor starts with quite a bit of toasted bread and a touch of fruity caramel notes - raisin and lots of banana. There is also some clove and light pepper phenolics. The same slightly off phenolic note in the aroma is also present in the flavor. Medium bitterness and medium low astringency.
Mouthfeel is medium low bodied with medium high carbonation. Astringency is medium low as is alcohol warmth. Could use a bit more carbonation.
Overall this is an alright beer but it is missing something. I think the malt character could be a bit more developed and the phenolic character is a bit off.

Draft at sb. Pours nearly opaque dark mahogany. Loose dense creamy tan mousse on top. Mild sweet wheaty brown bread nose. Creamy soft medium body with light carb. Brown bread and a little tart dark pitted tree fruit on the mid palate. Mild bready finish.
