12oz bottle picked up at The Grapevine ApisAles (1575) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Appearance: Pours dark brown with a medium sized tan head and some lacing
Aroma: Toasted malts, chocolate and roasted coffee
Taste: Roasted malts and coffee, milk chocolate
Nice, smooth and tasty.
On tap at the brewery. dark brown pour with a light tan head. Aroma is bitter chocolate, a little roast, and some hops. I’m not sure what was going on, but all the beers at the brewery from the tap tasted a little overhopped for the styles. Oh well. Flavor was good with some chocolate and roasted barely notes. A bit of that hop kick. Not bad. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAR 3, 2012
Draft at Indigo. Pours a grainy, murky black with a scant tan filmy head. Dark bitter chocolate nose. Creamy medium body, decent carb. Bitter chocolate mid palate with a mild roasty finish. Kind of a one trick pony. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - FEB 28, 2012
A big bodied porter. A nice roasted flavor that is not too overpowering but quality. Carbonated a lot for a porter but still a quality brew. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Bottled. Dark brown with amber hues and a medium sized head. Light roasty, caramel nose. Light sweet, light roasty flavor, and a mildly hoppy finish. Medium body.

12 oz. Opaque chocolate with a small ring of bubbles.. Nose is charred coffee bean, light cocoa. Flavor is cocoa, coffee, and light berry. Medium body is chalky-dry, and a little too fizzy. Aml42000 (622) - Washington, USA - FEB 12, 2012
Nice enough, solid porter from the PNW. Roasted aromatics and palate. A hint of chocolate on the finish. Excellent price, but no idea what makes this special or seasonal. troopie (2320) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - FEB 2, 2012
Bottle. Black pour with off white head. Nutty and bittersweet chocolate aroma. Medium bodied, with some nut in the flavour. Roast and a little hop in the finish boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Bottle... Poured a dense, near black with a thick, light brown head. Nose had some roast, and some hints of sulfur. Thin, drying body. Lots of roat here in the flavor. Reminded my of a dry stout. Dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, charcoal, a but nutty. More roasted malt in the finish. Mild bitterness with a hint of hops. Smurf2055 (1400) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Three fingers off white head. Very dark color. Strong rich robust smell. Coffee overpowers the nose. Taste is a lot lighter than expected. Coffee bitterness and a bit tart. Decent, but nothing special.
