Dark brownish-red pour with an off-white head. The aroma has some roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is very similar with the addition of some grass character. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. nearbeer (5516) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 22, 2012
12 oz. Opaque chocolate with a small ring of bubbles.. Nose is charred coffee bean, light cocoa. Flavor is cocoa, coffee, and light berry. Medium body is chalky-dry, and a little too fizzy. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Bottle... Poured a dense, near black with a thick, light brown head. Nose had some roast, and some hints of sulfur. Thin, drying body. Lots of roat here in the flavor. Reminded my of a dry stout. Dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, charcoal, a but nutty. More roasted malt in the finish. Mild bitterness with a hint of hops. Crit (4039) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 10, 2012
Deep brown, lasting tan head.Neutral nose.Watery, thin bodied dry maly profile. Medium bitterness in finish.
I expected more from this brewery jake65 (3978) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - AUG 9, 2012
Bottle: Dark brown with a thin head. The description of bittersweet chocolate is very accurate, plus a little roast and yeast. Consistent through the flavor too. Good chocolate to bittersweet to roast ratio. Moderate in intensity and I found this rather easy to cruise through the whole bottle solo.

It’s just another Porter, but it’s brewed right. Happy New Year, Happy Last Year. Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - AUG 22, 2013
February 2012. From bottle. Dark brown with a tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate and spice aromas. Slightly sweet at first, but finished bitter. A bit on the lighter side. poisoneddwarf (2599) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - JAN 13, 2012
12 oz bottle bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours almost opaque black with reddish tints; has a thin beige head that holds for a couple of minutes. Aroma is faintly bready--that’s all I’m getting. Taste is bittersweet--the bitterness is much more prominent than the Big Sky Bobo I rated last night, which was sweeter, but this is Ninkasi, after all. Has a nice roasty flavor. Carbonation is average and the mouthfeel is creamy. Not as good as Bobo, but this is good. Reid (2587) - Salem, Oregon, USA - JAN 5, 2012
22 oz bottle from Fred Meyer,S.Salem. $3.79

MM strange liquorice root flavours, then treacle and nuts..dark coffee bitterness in the back.. i like it!
palate was just fine for style maybe even a bit thicker than usual
Going against the grain but i liked this..especially thebliquorice/treacle taste gregwilsonstl (2574) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 22, 2012
Dark black. Tastes like chocolate milk...with a hint of hops. Creamy. Amazing porter.
