Bottle:   Deep amber, fiery, lots of fine sediment floating about, large pillowy sandy head, nice lacing.   Soft malty nose, biscuity, smidgen of nuts.   Ever so slight peat.   Soft maltiness on the tongue, a
little biscuit, some nuttiness too.   Feels smooth on the tongue, decent amount of sweetness.   Seems very mellow for an Irish Ale.   Low hop, but lower than expected.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Simple,
soft, malty, semi-sweet, with some biscuit and nutty aspects.   Very low bitterness.   Enjoyable, even it a little average. robforbes (2255) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - OCT 2, 2012
pours a semi cloudy brown with a red tint, a small light tan head, and great lacing.
smell is faint, floral, caramel, slight pine comes through, and few hops.
taste is of hops, roasted malt, caramel, a bitter back, and grass. Ratman197 (15105) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - AUG 9, 2012
Bottle 2011 version poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, toffee and lighty fruittiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, toffee and light earthiness with a crisp lingering carmel finish. bpreo (2881) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - JUN 14, 2012
2011 version, only 5.2% alcohol with a completely different label. Thick thick head that doesn’t go away. Decent taste and all the rest. Crit (4039) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 23, 2012
Sparkling chestnut, small beige head.Neutral nose. Light malt profile, with subdued but lasting hop finish
Shink (177) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 19, 2012
Flat, nondiscript taste with almost no aroma. Dark red almost brown color with a decent head. Decent consistency, but a funny aftertaste. I wasn?t a huge fan of this beer and I usually like Ninkasi beers. I found myself bored after drinking half of this beer. dumontn (530) - St. Joseph, Michigan, USA - APR 15, 2012
Pours hazy red with good head retention. Aroma is caramel and toffee, pine forest, resin. Taste is very roasty, bordering on coffee, sharp amber malt, pine. Body is medium with medium carbonation and a long bitter/roasty hoppy finish. Overall, a bit too harsh around the edges for me. ApisAles (1575) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - MAR 19, 2012
On tap at the brewery. Red pour with an off-white head. Aroma is malty slightly hoppy. Maybe a bit to hoppy for the style. Flavor is light malt. light hops. Pretty watery. Not bad, but bland and dead boring. And 6.7% Really? Aml42000 (622) - Washington, USA - MAR 17, 2012
Nothing happening here. Thin, watery red ale lacking complexity and character. This brewery is capable of much more. hopasaurus_rex (109) - Surprise, Arizona, USA - FEB 4, 2012
Pours a dark red. Just smells like straight malt. Really nothing else. Flavors of malt on top of malt with a slight bit of hops. Pretty one dimensional. Really boring. Mouthfeel is bland and boring as well. Pretty disappointing.
