Prismatic Lager Series. Sterling Pils is a German-style Pilsner brewed with North American ingredients — including Sterling hops from Washington, Premium Pilsner malt from Montana and Idaho, and some of the best brewing water in the world from the Pacific Northwest.

In tribute to the Northern German Pils, we used North American hops and malt in this beer to bring both worlds together in harmony. A grassy, straw, and earthy noble-like hop aroma is balanced with a clean toasted malt profile with hints of honey. This lager is conditioned for a smooth taste throughout, with a crisp and refreshing finish. Sterling Pils pours straw-colored with tight head retention for maximum aromatic expression. With the balance and drinkability found in traditional German brewing, we are proud to offer Sterling Pils in our Prismatic Lager Series.

12oz. bottle pours a golden yellow color with a thick white head initially but faded and leave good lacing. smells of biscuit, grass, sweet malt and light hops. tastes of all the same things in the smell. Mouthfeel is light with good carbonation. this is a good tasting german style pilsner. Nothing over the toop but good.

"Yellow w a huge white cap. Aroma toasty malts, light fruit and grass. Flavor slightly sweet. Crisp and bready. Grain in the aftertaste. Pretty nice example of the style. Crisp finish."

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2014 6-pack picked up at Homebrew Stuff ... just editing my review... Pours a sorta colloidal hazed golden... nice white head... good retention. Nose hits with a nice hoppy bite that previews the coming bitterness. Crisp hoppiness that is a little more floral than spicy... Definitely more PNW than Continental. Good bitterness from front to back... hops are again floral.. grainy pils maltiness. Very drinkable... but I think this 6-pack is old... cannot find a decent date, but this seems not quite fresh... still pretty nice.. love a good pilsner.

Bottled 12MAR13 (glad to see bottle dates on Ninkasi!!) It’s a golden ale with a solid quilt of bone white foam. Nice, classic look. Smells of grain, corn, rice hulls, some herbal hops, some chalk, slightly sweet nose. Flavor is corn pops, some bitterness, a little wood and floral character and a good grainy base. Medium on full for the style with fine moderately low carb for the style. Overall I’m happy to drink this, if it were canned, I’d take it to the lake probably. Easy drinker for sure.

~Very fresh lemony aroma, floral with bready malts, coriander banana and honey. Wasnt expecting that. Refreshing. ~pours clear gold with big fluffy lasting white head. ~Honey bready flavor. Kind of like honey on cornbread with earthy hops. ~light fluffy mouthfeel, medium high CO2, lingering earthy hop finish. ~Wow. Quite impressed with this. Not like any other beer I’ve had that calls itself a Pils. Really enjoyable and considering I picked it up for 99 cents at Total Wine even better!

Aroma of lemon and coriander. Fizzed yellow/golden appearance with little foam. Unbalanced flavors of coriander, wheat, banana and pear. Overall, this is a mess. No balance, No talent. Unimpressed

Bottle:   Straw colored, moderate to large frothy white head, spotty lacing.   Semi-sweet grassy nose.   Smooth grassiness on the tongue, very clean, light sweetness.   Not grainy at all, soft grass and hay, or straw, but its very very clean.   Smooth.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Don’t say that too often with Pilseners.   Clean finish, lingering grassiness.   Very simple, very clean, with light sweetness.   Nothing really off about this one.   Not a Pilsener fan, but this one was a well done local example!

From bottle, included in Portland Monthly’s Locals Only Seasonal Six pack. Golden clear color. Aroma of biscuit, grass, and light hops. Taste is slightly sweet bread malts and a good balance of grassy hops. Really smooth and clean.

Bottle - pours out cloudy golden color with little head. Nose of yeast, grain, and grass. Taste is mild combination of grass, biscuit, and slight hoppy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Golden beer with an off-white head. Grass and spice aroma with mineral. Hay and grain flavor with grass. Medium bodied. Hay and grain lingers with spice and mineral notes.
