Solid IPA but too thick & malty for 6.7% ABV. Great Divide’s Titan IPA is 6.8% and is much lighter. That said, the beer is good, even if on the imperial side in taste roytheboy (13) - British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 23, 2011
Aroma: Great exceptions - rich malt, hint of citrus, licorice and bake apple. \
Appearance - clear golden with thin head
Taste - thin, not reflecting aroma, hints of orange, malt
Palate - not particularly bright or rich, smooth, light after taste, not particularly bitter
Overall - Nice IPA. Bold aroma but a quiet taste. BK7 (773) - Turner, Oregon, USA - SEP 20, 2011
Bottle and on tap. I have been enjoying this IPA for a while now. The beer starts off a little weak but picks right up and finishes with a great bitterness that sticks around untill the next drink. Total Domination is especially good on tap fresh at the Ninkasi Brewery. DavoleBomb (1867) - Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 9, 2011
Poured into a snifter.
4.0 A: Lightly hazed medium orange color. Three fingers of creamy/frothy off-white head. Retention is average and lots of non-uniform lacing is left.
3.0 S: The aroma is surprisingly subtle. Bready malts with a touch of crystal. Hops offer a slight orange and grapefruit. Fairly simple and tame.
3.0 T: Like the nose, this is tame and unassuming. Orange and grapefruit again with a strange sourishness. Bready malts with a good bit of crystal sweetness.
3.0 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lightly creamy.
2.5 D: Not horrible, but unimpressive on every account.

Pours a sparkling amber-orange color, with a thick, billowy cream-colored head. The aroma is bursting with bold, citrusy combination of orange and grapefruit. The flavor is likewise jammed with grapefruit, with a juicy, lingering, pithy bitterness that is only partially balanced by a light caramel sweetness and some earthy undertones. The texture is light and smooth, yet the sticky, resinous hops don’t readily fade away. Overall, although the flavor isn’t a rot-your-molars kind of bitterness, it is certainly substantially hopped, resulting in a wonderfully bright and flavorful IPA.

On tap in a plastic cup at Safeco field. Awesome. Amber with giant off-white head. Citrus with lots of pine. Resin, juicy mandarin orange, cream. Lasting hop bitterness. Medium body, good balance. Very well done. dcschiller (2208) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 24, 2011
(22oz bottle from BevMo! Scottsdale). Pours a hazy apricot color with off-white head. Active carbonation. Aroma has some orange, grapefruit, and pine. Taste has a semi-sweet malt backbone with sharp bitterness. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Bitter finish. Ok, but a little unbalanced. Syzzer (647) - Oregon, USA - AUG 9, 2011
Great as an IPA, the hops was initially assaultive then quickly dissipate. There is a bad bitter aftertaste k9coug (116) - USA - AUG 8, 2011
I love a bitter beer, but not when it seems that the beer is steeped in grapefruit. I wish this bewery would change their label. It’s from the northwest but most people would thinks it’s Japenese. Ulfada (257) - North Carolina, USA - AUG 4, 2011
Pours a slightly hazy color, nice floral hop aroma. Thin white head with good lacing. Excellent hop flavor, massive citrus and some pine. There is a little bitterness at the end that finishes this beer off nicely.
